Murphy went 4-for-5 with a double, a homer, three RBI and three runs scored Monday in San Diego. The bat is starting to wake up in a big way. Murphy hit .330 in May after a .198 month of April, but he only homered one time last month. The Mets will need him to flash that pop a bit more, as their offense has struggled mightily this season in the absence of middle-of-the-lineup presences David Wright (back/hamstring) and Travis d'Arnaud (hand).

Murphy went 3-for-4 Saturday with an RBI. He's now hitting .325 (25-for-77) in May, although Murphy has only one home run, nine RBI and four runs scored to show for it. While he seems to have found his stroke again after a cold April, he'll need to team around him to start hitting a little better if he's going to be more productive.

Murphy went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Cardinals. Murphy hit home run number three on Tuesday off of Michael Wacha in the fourth inning. Murphy is batting just .245 on the year and certainly hasn't produced like expected up to this point.

Murphy went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI in the 14-1 win against Milwaukee on Saturday. He was one of four players who recorded two runs and two RBI in the game and it was just a complete domination Saturday. Murphy appears to be getting hot, hitting safely in eight of his last nine games, with three multi-hit games.

Murphy will move back to second base with Dilson Herrera (finger) headed to the 15-day DL, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Eric Campbell will come back up to replace Herrera on the active roster and take on a regular role at the hot corner for the time being, with Murphy moving back to second. Ruben Tejada will remain in a utility role.

Murphy is out of the lineup Thursday. His defense at third base has been shaky, so the Mets will opt to start Ruben Tejada at the hot corner instead Thursday. Murphy is only hitting .244 this season, but his bat should still be enough to get him in the lineup most days even with his shoddy defense.

Murphy was 2-for-4 with three RBI in the Mets 4-0 win over the Nationals Friday night. His timely bases-loaded double in the eighth inning broke open a 1-0 game. Murphy moved over to third base with the call-up of Dilson Herrera to play second, and will likely man the hot corner until David Wright returns from the disabled list. This should be a defensive improvement, however the biggest problem in the infield is at shortstop where Wilmer Flores committed his seventh error.

Murphy may move to third base with David Wright (hamstring) sidelined so that newly-promoted Dilson Herrera can play second, the NY Daily News reports. The Mets infield defense has been atrocious and Herrera has shown he can play a solid second base. Murphy played third base a bit last year and may move to the hot corner, at least until Wright returns in a week or so.

Murphy played the hero Monday night, launching a 3-run home run off of Steve Cishek in the ninth inning of the Mets' 3-1 victory. Murphy has had rough go of things thus far this season, but he's starting to show signs of turning things around. The second baseman now has nine RBI in his last five games, despite batting in a depleted lineup missing David Wright and Travis D'Arnaud. For the season Murphy is still hitting .174, but he is up to 11 RBI.

Murphy went 2-for-3 with a bases-clearing double, an RBI single and a walk in Thursday's win over the Braves. He also made a boneheaded fielding play that ended up costing Bartolo Colon a run on the ledger and struck out with the bases loaded, some somehow Murphy managed to have a two-hit, four-RBI day that was still a bit of a mixed bag. Of course, his fantasy owners will take it gratefully, considering this was Murph's first two-hit game and first multi-RBI game of the year. Considering his strong 6:4 BB:K and brutal .163 BABIP, Murphy makes for a nice buy-low candidate right now.
