Murphy (quad) began a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports. Murphy went 1-for-1 with a walk in his only two at-bats of a Gulf Coast League game Wednesday, which was called early due to rain. The rehab stint is expected to be short, barring a setback, but at this point Murphy is without a firm return date.

Murphy (quad) did some running Tuesday, and he should start a rehab assignment within the next day or two, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Murphy's projected return date has already been pushed back twice, but it looks as if he could rejoin the Mets this weekend, or possibly even Friday. His return will likely push Ruben Tejada back to the bench, as Mets manager Terry Collins said he wants to keep Dilson Herrera at second base.

Murphy's, whose return date was moved from Saturday to Tuesday, now may not be back Tuesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. No specific reason has been given but it's likely that his quad injury is not yet healed. However, manager Terry Collins was cryptic in his reasons for why Murphy may not be back, so the reason is up in the air.

Murphy's (quad) return date is now targeted for Tuesday and not Saturday, as originally reported, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Murphy will get a few more days to make sure he is fully healthy before rejoining the Mets. When he does return, Murphy should slide in as the full-time third baseman with David Wright (hamstring), replacing Ruben Tejada while Dilson Herrera remains at second base.

Murphy (quad) is still expected to return after the 15-day minimum for Saturday's game against the Braves, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports. Murphy will likely serve as the regular third baseman until David Wright (back) returns, with Dilson Herrera expected to get most of the playing time at second base. That leaves Ruben Tejada as the odd man out, though he could still garner a decent number of at-bats in a utility role. Wright is unlikely to return before the All-Star break.

Murphy (quad) is expected to return after the minimum 15 days on the disabled list, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports. Murphy was placed on the disabled list June 5, and it sounds as though it won't cost him much, if any time beyond minimum. While the combination of Dilson Herrera and Ruben Tejada should see the starts at second base and Eric Campbell at third in his absence, it's unclear what the Mets will do following Murphy's return. One thing that's almost certain, however, is that Murphy will remain an everyday player at one of the two spots upon his return.

Murphy (quad) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday. Manager Terry Collins hinted earlier that a stint on the disabled list was still possible, and that has now come to fruition. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined exactly, but the team recalled Danny Muno to take his place on the 25-man roster.

Speaking after Thursday's game in Arizona, Mets manager Terry Collins didn't rule out the possibility that Murphy (quad) could land on the disabled list, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Murphy was removed from Thursday's game in the third inning, just hours after it was announced that he'll be the Mets' full-time third baseman until David Wright (back) returns. If Murphy misses an extended period of time, Eric Campbell will likely get most of the starts at third base, while Ruben Tejada will probably stick at the keystone.

Murphy left Thursday's game in the third inning with tightness in his left quad. Murphy, who may have suffered injury grounding out in the top of the inning, was replaced at third base by Eric Campbell.

Murphy is shifting to third base full-time until David Wright (back) returns, Mike Puma of the NY Post reports. Murphy has already started 12 games at the hot corner this season, and with Wright (back) out indefinitely, that count will likely climb into the 20s or 30s. Ruben Tejada will now get most of the playing time at second base.
