Murphy is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy will get a regular day of rest, which marks his first day off since May 15. Stephen Drew will man the keystone in his stead, but expect to see Murphy back in action for Friday's matchup with St. Louis.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy continued to remind the Mets of what they've been missing, driving in Jayson Werth with a 401-foot blast off former teammate Matt Harvey in the fifth inning. The second baseman has carried the momentum from a historic 2015 postseason into this campaign, slashing a magnificent .392/.424/.620 in his first season with the Nationals. Washington couldn't have dreamed of having a better cleanup option available to punish those who pitch around Bryce Harper.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run homer and a walk against the Mets on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
In this three-game set -- Murphy's first time facing the Mets after seven seasons in blue and orange -- the second baseman went 4-for-11 with four RBI, exacting some measure of vengeance on his old team for choosing not to retain his services after last season's playoff heroics. Those numbers would have been even better if not for Juan Lagares' spectacular, Willy Mays-esque catch of a Murphy drive to center field earlier in the series. The 31-year-old has refined his approach brilliantly this year -- no, the strikeout rate isn't as low as last year's absurd 7.1 percent, but Murphy's swinging with authority, as evidenced by his hard-hit rate, which is comfortably at a career-high level right now.

Murphy (illness) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, CSN's Mark Zuckerman reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup due to an illness, but he was able to pinch hit in that game, and the ailment will not cost him any further starts. Murphy will man second base Tuesday and hit cleanup against former teammate Noah Syndergaard.

Updating a previous report, Murphy was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup due to illness, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy was removed from Sunday's lineup in favor of Stephen Drew just over two hours before first pitch, but now Nationals fans have a reason for the absence of their regular second baseman. Fortunately for Murphy, the Nationals have a team day off Monday, so whatever is ailing him will have another day to subside, and it's likely he'll return to action for Tuesday's series opener against the Mets -- his former team.

Murphy was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The exact cause of Murphy's departure is unclear at this time, but he may have tweaked something during pregame warmups. Look for the team to provide an update on his status later in the day. In the meantime, Stephen Drew will take over for Murphy at the keystone.

Murphy went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Tigers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He got slotted in the cleanup spot against a familiar face in former National Jordan Zimmerman, whom Murphy had seen quite a lot of in his tenure with the Mets. He's killed Zimmermann in his career, as Murphy's now 22-for-64 (.344) with four homers and 11 RBI against the veteran righty. He's also been one of the hottest hitters on the planet in general this year, as Murphy pushed his average back over the .400 mark (.409). The guy's doing a legitimately passable Ted Williams impersonation right now.

Murphy will move into the cleanup spot in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
There was plenty of discussion over the weekend regarding Ryan Zimmerman serving as the protection in the lineup for Bryce Harper rather than the hot-hitting Murphy, and it has resulted in Murphy getting bumped up to the cleanup spot for Wednesday's contest. Murphy and Zimmerman will flip spots in the order, with Zimmerman now hitting out of the five hole. Murphy's presence behind Harper on Wednesday will put added pressure on Tigers starter and former National Jordan Zimmerman as he'll have to face two of the more dangerous lefties in the game back-to-back.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI on Monday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy has been impossibly hot at the plate, hitting .459 this month after hitting .370 in April. The second baseman now has five home runs, 20 RBI and 21 runs scored in 2016, putting him on place to set career highs across the board.

Murphy (illness) is back in the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy was held out of Saturday's lineup after he reported feeling a bit under the weather, but it appears whatever was ailing him has now passed. He'll return to his regular role at the keystone, batting fifth in the order.
