Murphy (leg) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants, MLB.com's William Ladson reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy left Friday's game due to leg tightness, and has since given way to Trea Turner at second base in back-to-back games. The team will stay on the west coast with a three-game series against the Diamondbacks that begins Monday, so consider Murphy day-to-day heading into that opener.

Murphy (leg) is not in the lineup Saturday against San Francisco, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy was removed from Friday's game due to his leg tightening up and although manager Dusty Baker indicated that the injury was not all that serious, he'll likely miss a few games as a precaution. In his place, Trea Turner is getting the start at second and batting leadoff.

Manager Dusty Baker said Murphy was removed from Friday's game against the Giants for precautionary reasons after his leg "tightened up," Mark Zuckerman of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Baker's comments seem to downplay Murphy's injury, which provides reason to believe he is dealing with only a minor setback. It remains to be seen if he will be in the lineup for Saturday's game, however.

Murphy was removed from Friday's game during the sixth inning, Mark Zuckerman of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not immediately clear why Murphy was removed, but he slowed around second base on a fifth-inning triple, so he may be dealing with some sort of leg injury. Expect Murphy's status to be updated when more details become available.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo shot, his 20th home run of the season, in Wednesday's win over the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
After a .265/.330/.500 June which was actually his worst month of the season so far, Murphy has rebounded with a .366/.377/.775 line through 71 July at-bats. This is now his first 20-HR campaign, but Murphy has plenty of time to take a run at 25 or even 30 homers given his continued and consistent excellence at the plate this year.

Murphy (hamstring) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Pirates, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy will effectively sit out the entire three-game series against Pittsburgh due to some hamstring soreness that surfaced following the All-Star game. With a scheduled team day off on tap Monday, it will effectively be six consecutive days of rest for Murphy, provided he isn't used as a pinch-hitter Sunday. Fantasy owners need not stress too much about the second baseman, however, as Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports that Murphy was both jogging and taking BP on the field Saturday, implying a return is right around the corner.

Murphy was scratched from Friday's lineup due to general leg soreness and although he said he'd be good to go Saturday, manager Dusty Baker is giving the 31-year-old one more day off as a precaution. Murphy, one of the game's hottest hitters entering the All-Star break, is expected to start at first base Sunday against Chad Kuhl and the Pirates.
