Murphy is under the weather Saturday, which is why he was not in the lineup against the Cubs, according to the Nationals' broadcast.
EDGE Analysis
The broadcast team said manager Dusty Baker was simply giving Murphy a day off to get right, so hopefully that's all this is. Double check his status Sunday to make sure he's healthy enough to take the field before assuming he's back in the mix.

Murphy is out of the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, MASN's Mark Zuckerman reports.
EDGE Analysis
He gets a well-deserved day off Saturday, after tallying eight hits in his last three games, boosting his batting average to .406 in the process. Murphy will cool down at some point, but it appears as though he figured something out at the plate dating back to last year's postseason, and expectations should be adjusted accordingly. Stephen Drew will start at second base and hit seventh Saturday.

Murphy went 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Friday's loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
This is getting ridiculous. Murphy is now hitting .520 (13-for-25) through the first six games in May with two home runs, four doubles, six RBI and seven runs scored, and his April was pretty outstanding too. Sell high if you can, but otherwise just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Murphy went 4-for-5 in Wednesday's rout of the Royals with a double, four runs scored, three RBI and his fourth home run of the season.
EDGE Analysis
The hot streak that began in the postseason last year with the Mets has carried over into 2016, and Murphy is now slashing an absurd .398/.449/.663 through 26 games with the Nats. He will slow down eventually, but even if you can't execute the perfect sell-high deal with Murphy, there's no telling how long the ride might go on.

Murphy went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 2-0 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
He's now working on a four-game RBI streak to go along with his outstanding .382/.439/.596 slash line on the season. Murphy's counting stats (two home runs, 13 RBI, 12 runs scored) are a little more modest, but he's still providing incredible fantasy value for a second baseman.

Murphy went 2-for-4 Saturday with a run scored and an RBI.
EDGE Analysis
He closed out his first month in a Nats uniform with an eye-popping .370/.433/.580 slash line, two home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored. He'll cool down eventually, but Murphy has settled into the fifth spot in the order behind Bryce Harper and Ryan Zimmerman, and as long as Harper is drawing walks by the bushel Murphy should continue to see plenty of RBI opportunities.

Murphy is not in the lineup Saturday against the Twins, Chase Hughes of CSN Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy will take the day off, as the Nationals go with Stephen Drew at second base. Drew will bat fifth against Twins starter Phil Hughes.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a two-run shot in Monday's win over the Braves, his second home run of the season.
EDGE Analysis
It's his fourth multi-hit performance in five games to start the season, and Murphy now has a .471/.591/1.000 slash line to begin his Nationals' career. He'll cool down eventually, but so far he's providing exactly the kind of left-handed pop the Nats were looking for in order to balance out their lineup.

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a walk, a triple, three RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins
EDGE Analysis
He's off to a blistering start to his Nationals tenure, going 4-for-11 through three games with a home run, a stolen base, five RBI and a .364/.500/.909 slash line. Murphy hasn't had much luck in his career against Tom Koehler, Miami's starting pitcher Friday, going 6-for-30 with a home run against the right-hander, but his hot streak could allow him to reverse those fortunes.

Murphy went 2-for-3 with a home run and the tie-breaking RBI double in the 10th inning in his first game as a National.
EDGE Analysis
Murphy had one of the more remarkable playoff stretches in recent memory, and that has carried over into Opening Day. The second baseman hit .281 with 14 home runs and 73 RBI last season for the Mets.
