Murphy (hamstring) could have played Saturday, but the Nationals wanted to give him an extra day to rest, MLB.com's Jamal Collier reports. He is available to pinch hit.
EDGE Analysis
With hamstring injuries, managers often like to give a player an extra rest day just to be safe, and that's what Dusty Baker did with Murphy on Saturday. Assuming the Nationals are being forthcoming, Murphy should be back manning the keystone on Sunday. Stephen Drew is getting the start at second base in his place on Saturday.

Murphy (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Saturday, MLB.com's Jamal Collier reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was scratched from Friday's lineup with general leg soreness, and it was later revealed that he is dealing with a tight hamstring. He's day-to-day for now, and will make way for Stephen Drew at the keystone on Saturday.

Murphy was held out Friday with hamstring tightness that he first felt after Tuesday's All-Star game, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This report clarifies both the extent and nature of Murphy's injury. The setback does not seem serious, but it appears Murphy is still sore a couple days past the All-Star game, so it remains to be seen if he will be able to return to action Saturday.

Murphy was scratched from Friday's lineup with general leg soreness, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clint Robinson is now slated to man first base and bat eighth against lefty Francisco Liriano. This is seemingly a new issue for Murphy -- he played in the All-Star Game after all, going 2-for-3 -- and his availability for the rest of the weekend is up in the air.

Murphy went 1-for-4 with a first-inning two-run shot off Steven Matz, his 17th home run of the season, in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
During the four-game set against his former club that closed out the first half for Murphy and the Nats, he went 7-for-17 with three homers and 10 RBI, prompting one of the New York tabloids to beg him to leave town again on their front page. He now leads MLB in batting average (.348) headed into the All-Star break, while his 17 homers is already a new career high.

Murphy went 3-for-4 with an RBI double, two-run homer, four RBI overall and a walk in Saturday's 6-1 victory over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran second baseman continues to torment his former Mets teammates, playing the part of a proverbial one-man wrecking crew Saturday. He plated Ben Revere with a third-inning single to snap a 1-1 tie, brought home Jayson Werth with a double in the fifth, and then blasted a 415-foot shot to right center in the seventh to once again drive in Werth and close out the scoring for the Nationals. Following Saturday's performance, Murphy has now gone 6-for-13 with two doubles, two homers, eight RBI, three runs and a walk in the current series against his former squad.

Murphy went 2-for-5 with a homer, two runs and three RBI Thursday at the Mets.
EDGE Analysis

Murphy (undisclosed) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
The second baseman was held out of action Monday, with manager Dusty Baker telling the media that Murphy was "banged up." He neglected to elaborate on that, but it doesn't appear Murphy was dealing with anything serious. He'll return to his usual spot in the infield Tuesday, as Stephen Drew, who go the nod at second Monday, shifts back to the bench.

Murphy is out of the lineup Monday against the Brewers, with Nationals manager Dusty Baker stating that the second baseman is a little "banged up," Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Any injury Murphy is dealing with is believed to be minor and shouldn't keep him unavailable beyond Monday, as this seems like more of a maintenance day for the infielder. Baker indicated that Murphy's bat had been "slowing down" in recent days, but that hasn't been reflected in his numbers. Going back to June 24, he's recorded at least one hit in all but two of his 10 games, hitting .357 over that stretch with two homers and 10 RBI. Stephen Drew will get the nod at second base Monday, but look for Murphy to be back in the starting lineup Tuesday.

Murphy went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning victory over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran smacked a game-tying two-bagger in the sixth, which had been preceded by a sacrifice fly in the first inning that opened the scoring. Murphy has hit safely in four straight, and in six of the last seven contests. Even with a rather ordinary .265 average in June, the 31-year-old is still slashing .352/.393/.591 in what has been a career season.
