The Mariners acquired Castro from the Dodgers on Sunday in exchange for Kris Negron, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro has put together a .241/.304/.295 slash line with a home run and 11 RBI over 45 games this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He last surfaced in the big leagues during the 2018 campaign, though his stay lasted just 18 contests. He figures to be assigned to Triple-A Tacoma following Sunday's transaction and will serve as organizational depth.

Castro went 2-for-2 with two RBI in Thursday's game against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Castro has found success early in the spring and is now 3-for-8 with three RBI and two runs scored. Although he's a long shot to break camp with the big-league team, he could see time in the majors if the Dodgers are bitten by the injury bug at any point during the regular season.

Castro signed a minor-league contract which includes an invitation to spring training with the Dodgers on Friday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro has spent parts of three seasons in the majors but has very little to show for it, posting a .210/.240/.265 line in 98 games. He's unlikely to earn a roster spot in Los Angeles this spring but has the versatility to cover anywhere on the infield should injuries strike the team.

Castro was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Castro appeared in 18 games for the Rockies this season but didn't do much with the opportunity, hitting a meager .174/.191/.261. His weak .210/.240/.265 career line won't make him a hot commodity on the waiver wire. Garrett Hampson's contract was selected in a corresponding move.

Castro was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro was hitting just .174/.191/.261 across 18 games with the Rockies and had no clear path to playing time with DJ LeMahieu back from the DL, so this move isn't all too surprising. He'll continue to serve as organizational infield depth with the Isotopes, where he hit an impressive .407/.429/.516 across 23 games earlier in the season. Mike Tauchman was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding roster move.

Castro is hitting just .140 with the Rockies this season hasn't started since May 23.
EDGE Analysis
A hot start at Triple-A earned the versatile infielder a promotion in early May, but he's done little at the plate since joining the big-league team. Castro is making contact at a high 84 percent clip, but he's doing little with the balls he puts in play. The Rockies recently called up Ryan McMahon to fill in for DJ LeMahieu (thumb) at second base, so Castro appears to be relegated to a full-time bench role once again.

Castro is in the lineup for the third game in a row Friday against the Mets, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro has started at second base in every game since being called up Tuesday. He seems entrenched as the temporary starter while D.J. LeMahieu is out with a hamstring injury, though LeMahieu is eligible to return Tuesday, so Castro's window may not stay open long. The 25-year-old is just 1-for-8 so far this year, but with a few more hits over the weekend could make a case to remain on the roster once LeMahieu returns, as fellow utility man Pat Valaika is hitting just .091/.167/.145 through his first 61 plate appearances.

Castro's contract was selected by the Rockies on Tuesday, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro has started the season strong at Triple-A Albuquerque. Over 23 games he's slashed .407/.429/.516 with 11 RBI and 17 runs scored. With DJ LeMahieu (hamstring) on the disabled list, Castro could have the chance to see some time in the lineup, as he presents a versatile infield option for the Rockies. Last season with Albuquerque he spent time at second base, third base and shortstop.

Castro is hitting .407 with 11 RBI and 17 runs scored for Triple-A Albuquerque heading into May.
EDGE Analysis
The utility man is also in the midst of a 22-game hit streak for the Isotopes. Castro nearly broke camp with the Rockies out of spring training, but Pat Valaika managed to get healthy enough to play just before the start of the regular season. However, with Valaika hitting just .096 thus far, Castro's hot start has put him in the conversation for a callup. Valaika is entrenched as the primary second baseman while DJ LeMahieu (hamstring) is out, but Castro is certainly making his case to be back in the majors.

Castro was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro saw an opening to crack the Opening Day roster when shortstop Pat Valaika suffered an oblique injury during camp. With Valaika returning to action last week, Castro unfortunately saw his his chances dwindle. He'll likely begin the 2018 season with Triple-A Albuquerque but could make his way back to the majors as a utility piece if injuries occur at the major-league level.
