Kluber allowed a pair of solo home runs in the sixth inning before allowing a run on two hits in the sixth, but he already had enough run support to lock down his 19th win. He will look to build on this strong outing this weekend against the Red Sox.

It was the second uncharacteristically poor start for Kluber in his last four, as he was also touched up for five runs across 5.1 innings against the Royals in late August. He still holds a strong 2.91 ERA for the season and will look to bounce back this weekend against the Tigers.

Kluber (18-7) picked up the win Wednesday against the Royals, allowing one run on two hits and one walk across 6.2 innings. He struck out 10.

It was business as usual for Kluber, who allowed just two hits all evening while keeping the bases clear for five of the seven innings he appeared in. His 10 strikeouts were the most he's recorded in a start since May 30, and he's now now primed to surpass 200 strikeouts for a fifth consecutive season. He'll carry a shiny 2.75 ERA into his next start, which will come on the road against the Rays.

Kluber needed only 98 pitches to record his first complete game shutout of the season. Though he turned in several uncharacteristic starts that he blamed on a knee injury, it appears that Kluber is back on track after allowing only one earned run across 16.1 innings in his last two starts. His strikeout rate has taken a precipitous fall to 8.5 K/9, but he continues to post excellent ratios, carrying a 2.63 ERA and 0.92 WHIP through 154 innings.
