There was little doubt about where McHugh stood in the pecking order, but the Astros confirmed that he will start Apr. 6 against the Yankees. The 28-year-old righty topped 200 innings for the first time last year, and is a solid bet to do so again if he stays healthy, bringing with him a likely sub-4.00 ERA and sub-1.30 WHIP.

McHugh allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 3.2 innings in Tuesday's Grapefruit League loss to Washington.

The 28-year-old, who has a 3.12 ERA and 7:2 K:BB ratio over 8.2 Grapefruit League innings thus far, will slot second or third in the Astros' rotation to open 2016.
