McHugh (10-10) gave up an earned run on two hits and three walks over five innings in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Cubs. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The righty had some struggles with his control, an integral factor in his exit after just five frames. McHugh fired a total of 92 pitches during his time on the mound and often got behind early in the count, notching first-pitch strikes on just nine of 19 hitters. He did manage 12 swinging strikes overall, however, and has now rattled off wins in his last three decisions. He'll look to keep the positive momentum going when he takes on the Mariners next Friday.

McHugh (9-10) allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.1 innings, but received no decision Sunday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh has only recorded one quality start over his last five outings, and his ERA has risen from 4.69 to 4.96 on the season. After posting a pair of solid campaigns with the Astros in 2014 and 2015, he's had major regression in his numbers this year.

McHugh (9-10) threw six shutout innings and allowed just four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in the win Tuesday against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh logged his first quality start since August 8 and his first start with fewer than three runs allowed since July 23. He was downright nasty Tuesday night, as he induced 20 swinging strikes on 102 pitches and allowed just one baserunner to even get past second base. McHugh has had a major struggle with the home run ball this year, with four multi-homer starts and 23 total homers allowed in 27 starts. Until he figures that out, starts like this will be few and far between.

McHugh (8-10) allowed three runs on seven hits, struck out four and walked one over five innings in a victory against the Pirates on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros spotted him an early lead, and he was able to hold onto it through five. He threw 67 of his 99 pitches for strikes and induced 10 ground ball outs. He is now 8-10 with a 5.01 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 141 strikeouts in 142.0 innings this season.

McHugh didn't factor into the decision Friday versus the Orioles, giving up seven runs (six earned) on nine hits, including four homers, and a walk over three innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
He was haunted by the long ball in a surreal first inning. The trouble started from the first batter, as Adam Jones touched him up for a leadoff 371-foot solo shot. Two batters later, Manny Machado drove in Hyun-Soo Kim with a 416-foot blast and Chris Davis one-upped him with a 450-foot bomb immediately afterwards. Mark Trumbo then rubbed salt in the wound with a 401-foot round-tripper of his own to cap off the nightmarish opening frame. McHugh had a one-inning reprieve before running into trouble again in the third by giving up an RBI single to Jonathan Schoop and then allowing Matt Wieters score on a wild pitch. The 29-year-old has not secured a victory since July 29 versus the Tigers and will try to get back in the win column versus the Pirates on Wednesday.

McHugh (7-10) gave up three earned runs on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jays. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty gave up a solo homer in the first to Josh Donaldson before settling down until the sixth. McHugh gave up back-to-back singles to Edwin Encarnacion and Michael Saunders before giving way to reliever James Hoyt, who promptly surrendered a three-run homer to Russell Martin that proved to be the difference in the game. McHugh has now dropped four straight decisions despite mustering quality starts in two of those outings. He'll try to get back in the win column when he faces the Orioles next Friday.

McHugh (7-9) allowed three runs on 10 hits and a walk and struck out six over seven innings in a loss Monday to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh now has five quality starts in his last six outings but is just 2-3 over that span. He has showed flashes of brilliance, as he has struck out 10 batters three times this season, but he has lacked consistency. Monday marked the fourth time he has allowed 10 hits in a game, and he has given up at least four runs eight times in 23 starts.

McHugh (7-8) struck out 10 over six innings Wednesday against the Jays, but took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits.
EDGE Analysis
All three runs scored on solo homers, continuing McHugh's spike in long balls this year. An inflated BABIP has hurt him, but a sizable increase in homers has really put the icing on McHugh's worst full MLB campaign. On the bright side, he's improved on last season's disappointing strikeout rate, but the 29-year-old righty needs to do a better job keeping men off the bases and the ball in the park before he can be considered a reliable fantasy asset.

McHugh (7-7) was blasted in just 1.2 innings Friday versus the Tigers. He allowed eight runs on ten hits while recording just one strikeout in the loss.
EDGE Analysis
The outing was McHugh's worst since his opening start of the season against the Yankees (five runs in 0.1 inning) The right-hander entered the game with a 2.66 ERA in July, but it ballooned to 5.33, ruining what was shaping up to be his best month of the season so far. McHugh's rebound effort won't be easy as he'll take on a dangerous Blue Jays lineup Wednesday in his next start.

McHugh (7-6) allowed two runs on six hits while striking out six over six innings to earn the win Saturday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh was given a six-run lead in the fourth inning before allowing a pair of runs before his departure, and he easily earned his seventh victory of the year. He's now held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in six of his last seven starts to lower his ERA to 4.18 on the season. He'll make his next start Friday at the Tigers.
