Cole Hamels limited the Nationals to one run and two hits over seven innings on Monday night.
That Hamels was pulled after just 87 pitches led to speculation about an injury, but the Phillies have yet to give any indication that there's anything wrong. Hamels was terrific in the contest, striking out eight and walking none. Still, he didn't factor into the decision. Both he and Stephen Strasburg entered and left the game with six wins.

Cole Hamels allowed two runs over seven innings in the Phillies' 6-2 win over the Mets on Wednesday.
Hamels worked around nine hits and a walk, aided by eight strikeouts of Mets batters. He's now turned in quality starts in each of his past seven starts, but he's just 2-1 over that span. In total he's 6-13, but he's lowered his ERA to 3.58. The southpaw will square off against the Nationals on Monday.

All of the damage against him came in the fourth inning, where Martin Prado struck for a two-run double and rode home on an RBI single from Matt Davidson. Despite his horrendous 5-13 record, Hamels has pitched well throughout the season, posting a 3.62 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 158/42 K/BB ratio in 179 innings. He'll take on the Mets in New York on Wednesday.

Cole Hamels permitted two runs on seven hits over seven innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Sunday.
Hamels, who struck out eight and walked none, surrendered a solo homer to Andre Ethier in the second. The left-hander has been spectacular in August, posting a 1.45 ERA in 31 innings covering four starts. Of course, he's only 1-0 in those outings because Philadelphia's offense mustered only 11 runs total. Hamels remains 5-13 despite a nice 3.61 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.

Cole Hamels pitched his first complete game of the year on Monday, striking out nine in a 5-1 win over the Braves.
Hamels didn't have to rely on Jonathan Papelbon tonight. He did lose the shutout in the ninth, but he was still allowed to finish for his first win since July 9. He's allowed just three runs over 24 innings in his last three starts, and he's 3-2 with a 1.98 ERA in eight starts since the beginning of July.

Cole Hamels blanked the Giants for eight innings on Thursday, but he was denied a win by a Jonathan Papelbon blown save.
Hamels has a 2.09 ERA in six starts since the beginning of July, but all it's gotten him is a 2-2 record, with two blown leads costing him victories. He has a lot more right to complain about how things have deteriorated in Philly than Jonathan Papelbon does, yet he probably won't.

Cole Hamels twirled eight innings of two-run ball in Sunday's 4-3 no-decision win against the White Sox.
He struck out seven and walked none. Hamels must be one of the major's most relieved players at the moment: The first half is over. Hamels, who entered the game with a 4-11 record, was spectacular on Sunday, but his much-deserved victory was frittered away by Jonathan Papelbon (the Phillies came back to win in the 10th inning). The left-hander (4.05 ERA and 1.22 WHIP), who allowed just four earned runs over 23 innings in his last three starts, will hope for better in the second half.
