Cole Hamels (biceps) tossed six innings of one-run ball in a rehab start Saturday at High-A Clearwater.
Hamels yielded five hits but did not issue a walk and struck out six. He will make another rehab start on Thursday and could then join the Phillies' starting rotation on April 22 against the Dodgers. The left-hander should be a fantasy ace once he's activated.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. confirmed Thursday that Cole Hamels (biceps) might only need two more rehab starts.
Hamels said the same thing earlier this week. The southpaw allowed two runs over four innings Sunday in a rehab start with High-A Clearwater and is slated to make his next starts on April 12 and April 17. It sounds like April 22 is the target date for activation.

Cole Hamels (biceps) thinks he could join the Phillies' starting rotation after two more rehab starts.
Hamels, who fell behind this spring with biceps tendinitis, allowed two runs on three hits over four innings Sunday in a rehab start with High-A Clearwater. The southpaw feels good, so it's just a matter of getting his pitch-count up to about 90 or so. He should be back by the end of this month if all goes well.

Cole Hamels (biceps) allowed two runs on three hits over four innings in a rehab start with High-A Clearwater Sunday.
Hamels recorded four strikeouts but also was taken deep twice. There's no word on what his velocity was. The expectation is that the left-hander will make four total starts before rejoining the Phillies' rotation on April 26.

Cole Hamels (biceps) is hoping to rejoin the Phillies' rotation in late April.
Hamels pitched into the fourth inning Tuesday in an exhibition game between two of the club's minor league affiliates. It was his second game action this spring, as he'll continue rehabbing at the Phils' minor league complex for the next week. He should be ready for an official rehab assignment after that.

Phillies placed LHP Cole Hamels on the 15-day disabled list with biceps tendinitis.
The good news is that Hamels said he felt "really pleased" with his two-inning stint in a minor league game Thursday. "I'm really pleased and really confident, and what I'm able to do now is to truly get spring training in," said Hamels. "Obviously it's a little late, but I feel healthy and I think that's really the key." The left-hander should be ready to rejoin the Phillies' rotation around the beginning of May.

Cole Hamels (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch two innings in a minor league game on Thursday.
It'll be his first appearance in a live game since the end of the 2013 season. Hamels showed up to camp this spring with tendinitis in his left shoulder and the Phillies have been moving him along slowly to be safe. He should be ready to join the major league starting rotation around late April or early May.

Cole Hamels (shoulder) threw a successful bullpen session on Monday in Phillies camp.
Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer says that Hamels was "thrilled" with how felt during and after the bullpen session. "Now I just have to get the innings," the ace left-hander told reporters. He is expected to be ready around late April or early May.

Cole Hamels (shoulder) threw two 15-pitch innings to live hitters in a simulated game on Saturday and didn't report any problems.
The veteran left-hander remains roughly a month behind schedule, and isn't expected to rejoin the Phillies rotation until late-April provided he can avoid any further setbacks. He represents a high-risk, high-reward option in fantasy drafts.
