Allen allowed one run on two hits and struck out the side in an inning of work to record his second save of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Entering with a two-run lead, Allen got off to a rocky start by allowing doubles to his first two hitters to plate a run. His devastating stuff helped him strike out the next three men he faced, giving him six strikeouts en route to a pair of saves through his first two appearances. His elevated strikeout rate could make him a premier fantasy closer this season, as he is expected to see plenty of save opportunities for a contending Cleveland club.

Allen pitched the ninth inning and allowed a hit while striking out three to pick up his first save of the season over the Rangers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
It was a statement win in the season opener for Cleveland after they lost a classic World Series in Game 7 to the Cubs last fall. Allen and Cleveland's strong bullpen are a big reason why they could make another run back to the Fall Classic. The 28-year-old right-hander had some problems with the long ball last year, but he's also posted back-to-back seasons of 30-plus saves. He's a tier below the elite closers, mainly because of the presence of Andrew Miller.

Allen made his seventh Cactus League appearance Thursday against the Rockies and recorded two first-pitch outs.
EDGE Analysis
Cleveland's closer has been eased into action during this year's extended spring training. Aside from one rough outing against the Rangers on March 15, Allen has been solid. In some fantasy circles, owners may be scared of Allen with Andrew Miller looming, but the team is committed to the former and the righty should be drafted with confidence.

Cody Allen completed a simulated game this morning with no issues, Jordan Bastian reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Indians' closer has yet to appear in a game this spring as the team eases him into action. With an extra week of spring training due to the World Baseball Classic, Allen will have plenty of time to log Cactus League innings. He's penciled in as the Tribe's closer this season while Andrew Miller continues to fill the set-up role.

Allen will remain the closer for Cleveland this year as Andrew Miller returns to the set-up role, Chris Assenheimer of The Chronicle-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Terry Francona said he still likes the idea of having Allen as the end point in the bullpen. Hence, despite the luxury of having Andrew Miller for a full season, it appears there won't be any changes from the order that won the AL pennant last year. Allen converted 32 saves in 35 opportunities in 2016 and proved deadly against right-handed hitters, compiling a .139 BAA. With Miller in front of him to protect the lead, expect continued success from the Indians' closer.

Allen and the Indians avoided arbitration Friday with a $7.35 million deal, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen logged yet another excellent season as the Indians' closer in 2016, posting 32 saves, a 2.51 ERA, and 87 strikeouts in 68 innings. He was rewarded with a raise of more than $3 million, putting him well into the realm of closer money. He might see a downtick in saves now that Cleveland has Andrew Miller for a full year, but that doesn't mean he should be any less effective on the mound.

Allen allowed a hit, but he struck out two and recorded his 31st save of the 2016 season against the Royals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Indians closer struck the first two batters out looking, allowed a single and then induced a ground out to end the game. Since completing blowing up on Aug. 17 against the White Sox, Allen has yielded just one run in his last 15.2 innings. He is 31-for-34 in save opportunities with a 2.55 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 86 strikeouts in 67.0 innings this season.

Allen struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning against the Tigers on Monday, earning his 30th save of the year as the Indians clinched the division.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is now 6-for-6 in save opportunities in September, allowing just one run in 10 innings while striking out 11 and walking one. Allen has seen every save chance the Indians have had in September, despite the fact that Andrew Miller, who the Indians traded for, has been lights out as well and converted all three save chances he got in August.

EDGE Analysis
Allen allowed a leadoff homer to Salvador Perez in the final frame, cutting the lead to 4-3 and ending the closer's 10-game scoreless appearance streak. Things got more interesting when he walked He managed to quickly move past the blast to secure his fifth straight save, making the 27-year-old 28-for-31 in save chances this season.

Allen struck out two in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 27th save of the season Friday versus the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Working for the third consecutive day, Allen retired the side in 15 pitches, throwing 11 for strikes. He has racked up seven punchouts and allowed just one baserunner over the aforementioned three-game stretch, but he will likely be unavailable for Saturday's contest.
