Coco Crisp reported improvement with his left hamstring on Saturday.
Athletics manager Bob Melvin said it was the first time the outfielder didn't feel any soreness in the hamstring while walking around. That's still a long ways away from being able to run and play in games, but it's at least a step in the right direction.

Athletics placed OF Coco Crisp on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 30, with a left hamstring strain.
Crisp suffered the injury during Monday's extra-inning win over the Angels. It didn't appear to be all that serious at first, but he'll now be sidelined until around mid-May. Yeonis Cespedes figures to play center field until Chris Young is ready to return to the lineup.

Coco Crisp left Monday's game in the 13th inning with an apparent leg injury.
Crisp came up a little lame trying to beat out a grounder in extra innings. Since it didn't seem to be anything too severe, we'll call him day-to-day for now. Chris Young can fill in for him.

Coco Crisp went 2-for-4 with two runs scored as the A's defeated the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Crisp has now scored 20 runs on the year and we've still got a week left in April. The power shouldn't be expected to remain all season, but he's more than capable of continuing to set the table at the top of the A's lineup. One of the most proficient base stealers in the game, it's hard to find a player who's had a better first month than Crisp.

Coco Crisp is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Astros.
The A's have a day game on Wednesday and an off-day on Thursday, so manager Bob Melvin wants to give Crisp a breather after his recent groin issue. Chris Young will play center field Wednesday while John Jaso will serve as the DH.

Coco Crisp (groin) is back in Monday's lineup against the Astros.
Crisp hasn't played since Friday due to a strained left groin, but a couple of days of rest did him some good. The veteran outfielder is hitting .333 (16-for-48) with four homers, five doubles, seven RBI and four stolen bases through 11 games this season. Get him back in your lineups in fantasy leagues.

Coco Crisp (groin) is not in Saturday's lineup against the Tigers.
Yoenis Cespedes (hand) and Jed Lowrie are also not in the lineup. Oakland could be forced to call up Michael Taylor or Shane Peterson if Crisp requires an extended absence. Cespedes is considered day-to-day after leaving Friday's game.

Coco Crisp left Friday's game against the Tigers because of a strained left groin.
The A's will likely have to make a roster move Saturday with both Crisp and Yoenis Cespedes hurting, and there's a good chance Crisp will be the one to land on the disabled list. It's unfortunate, as he was off to a terrific start, but the A's were well prepared for this. They'll go to Chris Young in center and give more at-bats to Seth Smith at DH. Either Michael Taylor or Shane Peterson would be called up.

Coco Crisp went 2-for-5 and homered in a fourth straight game Tuesday against the Angels.
Crisp has averaged a bit less than an extra-base hit every third game of his career. This season, he has four homers and five doubles in eight games. Maybe he switched breakfast cereals.
