Crisp finished the evening 1-for-4. His blast off Verlander came on just the fourth pitch of the game, while he was behind in the count 1-2. When healthy, he's been a spark plug at the top of the A's lineup this season, though he'll need help from elsewhere in the lineup if the A's are going to rally back to knock off the Tigers.

Making his first start since an unfortunately timed case of pink eye first sidelined him on September 19, Crisp took Blake Beavan deep in the first inning. The home run was Crisp's 11th of the season. He last notched double-digit bombs in 2005 as a member of the Indians.
