Cliff Lee allowed five runs over seven-plus innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday. He allowed a season-high 12 hits while walking one and striking out three. Lee was actually well on his way to his first win of the season before the wheels came off in the eighth. He allowed a leadoff walk to Jose Bautista and a single to Edwin Encarnacion before a throwing error by Jimmy Rollins allowed two runs to score. Lee then gave up a single to Kelly Johnson before getting pulled. Chad Qualls came on in relief and gave up a game-tying double to J.P. Arencibia to close the book on Lee's afternoon. The southpaw is now winless over his first 11 starts this season, despite a 3.48 ERA. He'll try again next week against the Rays.

Cliff Lee allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings of Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Mets. Lee struck out seven and served up a two-run homer to Lucas Duda in taking a no-decision. Lee has yet to earn a victory this season, but has been quality in all but one of his five starts since coming off the disabled list on May 9. He'll bring a 3.00 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 54/10 K/BB ratio (through 57 innings) into his start against the Dodgers next week.

Cliff Lee took a no-decision after giving up three runs on eight hits over seven innings. Lee did strikeout seven, but struggled with his command, issuing three walks and allowing a home run to Rafael Furcal in the third inning. Lee has yet to win a game in seven starts this season. He'll take on the Mets in New York on Wednesday.

Cliff Lee didn't have it in Sunday's Interleague loss to the Red Sox, allowing five runs on nine hits in seven innings. Lee struck out six, walked one and served up a pair of home runs, one a three-run bomb off the bat of Jarrod Saltalamacchia. The non-quality start was just his second in six outings this season. Still searching for his first win, Lee will bring an excellent 2.66 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 40/5 K/BB ratio (through 44 innings) into his Friday start in St. Louis.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro said he will be a seller in July if his team doesn't improve over the next few months. "We just have to get on track," Amaro said. "But if July comes and we're playing like this, we'll be sellers. How we play now will determine whether we'll be buyers or sellers in July." The Phillies are 14-18 and five games back in the NL East. With a $174 million payroll, just shy of the $178 million luxury-tax threshold, and ownership that doesn't want to pay the tax, Amaro won't have much wiggle room if he decides he wants to be a buyer in July.

Cliff Lee (oblique) pronounced himself ready to return to the Phillies' rotation. Lee made it through a bullpen session Saturday without any issues and will rejoin the Phillies in New York next week. The 33-year-old has been on the disabled list since April 19 with a strained left oblique. Kyle Kendrick, who had been filling in, is expected to return to the bullpen.

Cliff Lee (oblique) threw his first bullpen session Wednesday since landing on the disabled list. He didn't feel anything with his left oblique. Lee won't return from the disabled list on Friday when first eligible, but he'll throw another bullpen session in a few days and should be activated if it goes well. He boasts a 1.96 ERA and 0.70 WHIP over his first three starts.

Cliff Lee underwent an MRI on Thursday, which confirmed the initial diagnosis of a left oblique strain. "Cliff's got a Grade 1 left external oblique strain, which is kind of what we thought it was going to be," said general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. "And he seems to be doing better and better every day. Hopefully he'll only miss a couple starts, but we'll see how it goes." Lee is eligible to come off the disabled list next Friday, but Amaro indicated that he may need longer than a minimum stay.

Cliff Lee has been able to throw the last few days and reported improvment with his strained left oblique. Lee has said that there was a debate about whether or not to put him on the disabled list, and he expects the stint to be short. Oblique injuries rarely result in minimum DL stints, but perhaps Lee can be the exception to the rule.
