Cliff Lee came within one out of his sixth shutout of the season on Wednesday, allowing just six hits in 8 2/3 scoreless innings of Philadelphia's 3-0 win over the Reds. He struck out seven and walked one. Lee got Brandon Phillips to ground out and Dave Sappelt to pop out to begin the ninth before he served up a double to Joey Votto, walked Jay Bruce and hit Miguel Cairo. He was then yanked for Ryan Madson, who got Yonder Alonso to foul out to third for a one-out save. Lee's outing had a disappointing ending, but still dropped his ERA to 2.59 and WHIP to 1.05. His five shutouts lead baseball.

The second game of Saturday's doubleheader between the Marlins and Phillies has been postponed due to Hurricane Irene. The hurricane continues to wreak havoc on MLB's schedule over the weekend. The game is slated to be made up on September 15. The Marlins had yet to name a starter for the game, while Cliff Lee will have his next outing pushed back to next week.

Cliff Lee threw eight shutout innings, striking out 10, Tuesday in the Phillies' 2-1 defeat of the Dodgers. Lee also homered, providing a run that would prove pivotal. He took Ted Lilly deep in the seventh to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead. The Dodgers tacked a run on closer Ryan Madson two innings later but fell short in a comeback attempt. It was Lee's second homer of the season and he has a respectable .377 slugging percentage. On the mound, where he makes his money, he's 12-7 with a 2.83 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.

Cliff Lee surrendered four runs and 8 hits in 7.2 innings Saturday in a 7-4 win over the Pirates. Lee walked two, struck out 11 and went 2-of-4 at the plate. It wasn't Lee's best performance by any means, but it was enough to get the job done. It took Lee 121 pitches to get through the outing, and we're slightly concerned about his struggles over the last few starts. That being said, you know you're an elite fantasy pitcher when 11 strikeouts and four runs over 7.2 innings is considered a down performance.

Cliff Lee delivered six innings of two-run ball as part of a no-decision in Tuesday's win against the Cubs. The only damage was a two-run blast by Starlin Castro in the first inning. Chicago mustered no offense from there on out. Lee struck out six, didn't walk a batter and gave up eight hits. He'll take nine wins, a 2.83 ERA and 143 strikeouts over 143 1/3 innings into next week's tilt against the Padres.

Cliff Lee delivered eight innings of one-run ball as part of a no-decision in Saturday's loss to the Braves. The only damage was a solo blast by Dan Uggla in the top of the fifth inning. All told, Lee allowed just three hits while whiffing nine and walking one. Oh, and he also hit his first career home run. Lee got off to a bit of a slow start this season, but has successfully met some pretty lofty draft day expectations. He'll take nine wins, a 2.82 ERA and 137 strikeouts over 137 1/3 innings into the All-Star break.

Cliff Lee kept rolling in Philadelphia's 4-0 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday, allowing just six hits in his second consecutive shutout. He struck out three and walked one. The shutout was the eighth of Lee's career (and third of the season), while the complete game was his 23rd, 20 of which have come since 2008. Since losing in St. Louis on May 16, Lee has gone 6-1 with a 1.82 ERA in seven starts, going eight innings or more five times.

Cliff Lee hurled his seventh career shutout Thursday as the Phillies beat the Marlins 3-0. Logan Morrison and Mike Stanton had the only two hits for the Marlins, both of which were singles. With two walks and just four strikeouts, it wasn't one of Lee's typical outstanding outings. Still, not one is complainign. He's allowed a total of one run over 24 innings while winning his three starts this month.
