Cliff Lee pitched well in a no-decision against the Rockies on Friday, surrendering two runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings. Lee punched out seven without issuing a free pass on the night. All of the damage came in the first inning, where Carlos Gonzalez smashed an RBI double and Wilin Rosario plated him with a run-scoring single. He's been terrific over his last four starts, posting a 1.67 ERA and 26/2 K/BB ratio over 27 innings. He'll look to keep that momentum going when he takes on the Marlins at home on Wednesday.

Cliff Lee was outstanding in Saturday's victory over the Braves, scattering five hits and a walk over seven scoreless frames. Lee racked up five strikeouts in the game. All five of the hits he allowed were singles, and the Braves never mounted a serious scoring threat against him. He also drove home a run on his own, drawing a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning. It's the first time all season that Lee has won consecutive starts, improving to 4-7 with a 3.52 ERA and 161/28 K/BB ratio through 168 2/3 innings on the year. He'll get the Rockies next.

The left-hander has posted a 3.84 ERA and 151/25 K/BB ratio over 154 2/3 innings this season but remains just 2-7. He'll go in search of that elusive third victory when he takes on the Nationals at home on Sunday.

The eight-inning outing was his fifth in 19 2012 starts. The owner of a 3.78 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 124/24 K/BB ratio through 133 1/3 frames, Lee will go for his third win of the year against the Cardinals at home on Saturday.

Jeff Passan of YahooSports.com reports that the Phillies have placed Cliff Lee on waivers. It's common practice in August to place guys on waivers, and this in no way means that Lee will change teams. He's fully expected to clear waivers, which will give the Phillies the option to trade him to any team. Passan says the Phils will likely have to eat $7-8 million per season of Lee's salary over the next three seasons (plus the fourth-year buyout) if they want to pick up premium prospects in a deal. It seems unlikely that he'll be moved, but there's always a chance.

Cliff Lee pitched an outstanding ballgame in Tuesday's victory over the Nationals, scattering five hits over seven scoreless innings. Lee racked up seven strikeouts while walking just one in the game. He also helped out his own cause on offense, going 1-for-3 with an RBI single and picked up just his second career stolen base. Astoundingly, it was just Lee's second victory of the season, who now stands at 2-6 with a 3.73 ERA and 119/24 K/BB ratio. He'll look to carry over the momentum from this strong outing when he does battle against the Diamondbacks at home on Sunday.

The Phillies have taken pitcher Cliff Lee off the trade market, according to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark. Philly reportedly wanted a huge haul for Lee and teams weren't willing to surrender it while taking on his mammoth contract. The Phillies appear determined to shed payroll going into 2013, so it's possible the idea of trading Lee could be re-visited during the offseason.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, one rival executive said early Tuesday that he had "received indications" that the Phillies and Diamondbacks had discussed a deal involving Cliff Lee and Justin Upton. Well, that would be a doozy. Rosenthal stresses that the talks are unconfirmed and it's not clear whether the Diamondbacks are one of the 21 teams where Lee can block a trade. Either way, Rosenthal hears that the "trying to pull off a blockbuster" for a premier starting pitcher. It could be Lee, but it could be someone else.
