Paddack (ankle) completed a bullpen session Monday and appears on track to start either Wednesday in San Diego against the Dodgers or Friday against the Mariners in Seattle, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack was removed from his previous start Sept. 11 after two innings due to a sprained right ankle, but the Padres don't seem overly concerned about the injury. Thanks to an off day Thursday to go along with a bullpen that hasn't been overtaxed during the team's seven-game winning streak, the Padres would have the luxury of taking a cautious approach with Paddack and waiting until Friday to use him. If manager Jayce Tingler decides to go that route, the Padres could treat Wednesday as a bullpen game, with former rotation member Joey Lucchesi being the top candidate to eat most of the innings.

Paddack was spotted on the field without a protective boot before Friday's postponed game against San Francisco and informed manager Jayce Tingler that his injured ankle felt better, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack exited his start Thursday after two innings due to a sprained right ankle but appeared to be feeling better one day later. "He had a compression sleeve on last night," Tingler said. "He said he woke up and felt better this morning than he did last night. That seems to be a good sign." While the Padres will not allow Paddack to return until ready, there is some urgency given the limited number of games remaining before the team decides its starting rotation for the playoffs. Per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com, the right-hander is not a lock to be included.

Paddack left Thursday's start against San Francisco due to a sprained right ankle and is considered day-to-day.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when or how the ankle sprain was suffered. The right-hander fanned four and allowed a solo homer to Wilmer Flores over his two innings pitched. X-rays came back negative and it isn't yet known if he'll be able to make his next start. He was slated to take the ball Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Paddack was removed from Thursday's game against the Giants at the start of the third inning due to an undisclosed reason, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The only sign of injury for the right-hander was a drop in fastball velocity from 94-95 mph in the first inning to 91-92 mph in the second according to Acee. He punched out four and allowed a solo homer to Wilmer Flores before departing.

Paddack (3-4) allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings as he was charged with the loss Saturday against Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack has been inconsistent recently, and he's been charged with losses in four of his last six starts as a result. He struggled early in Saturday's contest, giving up four runs over the first two innings, but he was able to settle down after that. However, the Padres' offense couldn't keep pace as Paddack added another loss to his record. He'll attempt to bounce back at home Thursday against the Giants.

Paddack (3-3) allowed two unearned runs on five hits and a walk across six innings Sunday, striking out eight and earning the win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack was dominant through five scoreless innings Sunday, racking up six strikeouts and allowing just two hits. He allowed two runs in the sixth after an error by Eric Hosmer with two outs. Fortunately for Paddack, his season ERA dropped to 4.43 because the runs were unearned. He'll take the mound in Oakland on Friday.

Paddack (2-3) allowed six runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven over five innings in a loss to the Mariners on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
As AJ Cassavell of MLB.com noted during the game, Paddack's fastball continues to be an issue. His average fastball velocity is actually up a bit, but he entered Tuesday's game with a .316 BAA on his fastball, with six home runs and a .772 SLG on 292 heaters thrown. The Mariners jumped on the fastball early and added a couple runs in the sixth, one after Paddack was pulled from the game. Paddack now has a 5.15 ERA, but there has been nothing from the team to suggest he may be injured. If we don't hear of anything on that front in the coming days, Paddack should take the ball Sunday in Colorado.

Paddack did not factor into the decision during Wednesday's win over the Rangers, allowing one run on four hits and a pair of walks while striking out five across six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from serving up a solo home run to Rougned Odor in the second inning, Paddack kept the Rangers in check. The 24-year-old, who has struggled with a weaker fastball this year, was coming off a rough start against the Dodgers last time out, so it was nice to see him rebound. He'll carry a 4.26 ERA and 1.14 WHIP into next Wednesday's matchup against Seattle.

Paddack's next scheduled start has been pushed back to Wednesday against the Rangers in San Diego, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres didn't provide a reason for pushing Paddack and Dinelson Lamet back one day in the rotation, but the most likely reason is simply to give the pair an extra day of rest. The team hasn't announced who will step in to start Tuesday. Paddack will attempt to bounce back from a rough outing during his last turn through the rotation.

Paddack (2-2) lasted only three innings against the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one and taking the loss.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack exited after throwing only 52 pitches, the lowest total of his young career. He was hit hard in the brief outing, giving up a pair of home runs in the first inning and another in the second. In total, five of LA's six hits against the Padres ace went for extra bases, and he managed only one punchout on the night. The right-hander's ERA ballooned to 4.91 with the tough outing, and his WHIP now stands at 1.17. Paddack will try to get back on the right track in his next scheduled start Tuesday in Texas.
