Paddack (4-9) picked up the win in Wednesday's 7-2 victory over the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on three hits over six innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander celebrated being dealt to a Tigers team in the thick of the race for the best record in the AL by delivering his sixth quality start of the season on 84 pitches (58 strikes) in his debut for his new squad. Paddack has had an uneven campaign, posting a 4.77 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 88:27 K:BB through 117 innings, but simply being able to take a regular turn in the rotation has to count as a successful season -- that innings total is his highest since 2019. He'll look to build on this performance in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Twins team that just traded him away.

Paddack, who was acquired in a trade from Minnesota on Monday, is set to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack will be taking the rotation spot of Reese Olson, who will miss the rest of the regular season due to a right shoulder strain. The former last took the mound on July 23, so it will be a full week in between starts for the righty. In 21 outings for the Twins this year, Paddack posted a 4.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 83 strikeouts across 111 innings. While he gives Detroit a veteran presence as the team deals with some injuries to starting pitchers, Paddack's numbers don't give fantasy managers much optimism that he'll be an impact player down the stretch.

The Tigers acquired Paddack and Randy Dobnak from the Twins on Monday in exchange for Enrique Jimenez, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack has had an up-and-down 2025 campaign, posting a 4.95 ERA and 83:27 K:BB across 111 innings covering 21 starts. He is coming off a dandy of a performance his last time out on the road against the Dodgers, striking out eight over six innings of one-run ball. Troy Melton is currently serving as the Tigers' No. 5 starter and is slated to take the ball Monday against the Diamondbacks, but Paddack figures to replace him in Detroit's rotation after that.

Paddack didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing one run on four hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack was able to keep a dangerous Dodgers lineup in check, but he was taken deep by the red-hot Shohei Ohtani for a solo shot in the first inning. It was an impressive bounce-back effort by Paddack, who registered his most strikeouts since his June 1 start in Seattle and threw at least six frames for the first time since a June 7 outing versus Toronto. The right-hander's shaky 4.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 83:27 K:BB over 111 innings still render him tough to trust his next time out versus the Red Sox, who have a .823 OPS against right-handed pitching over 18 games since the start of July.

Paddack (3-9) took the loss Friday against the Rockies, giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack's recent struggles before the All-Star break dragged into the beginning of the second half, as he walked multiple batters for the first time in his last seven starts. The right-hander has conceded at least four runs in five of his last seven outings, posting a dismal 8.55 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB over 33.2 innings in that span. With a scary matchup looming next week against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Paddack won't be a recommend fantasy streamer his next time out.

Paddack (3-8) took the loss Thursday against the Cubs, allowing six runs on 11 hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack's had a tough time of late, posting a 7.53 ERA over his last seven outings-- he's failed to log more than five strikeouts in a start during that span. The right-hander will head into the All-Star break with a 4.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 70:25 K:BB across 19 starts (100 innings).

Paddack didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Rays, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks in five innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The five punchouts were Paddack's most since he fanned 10 during his June 1 start. The right-hander hasn't thrown greater than five innings in any of his last five starts, but he's walked just two batters during that span. Paddack owns a lackluster 4.64 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 68:24 K:BB over 95 innings this year, and he shapes up as a fairly risky fantasy option his next time out in a difficult assignment at home versus the first-place Cubs.

Paddack (3-7) allowed three runs on six hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 4.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack was decent compared to recent outings, but he still gave up some loud contact, as four of the six hits he allowed went for extra-bases. The first two runs were solo shots by Kerry Carpenter and Riley Greene, and Paddack's start came to an end after Carpenter's RBI triple in the fifth. Paddack has allowed 21 runs (19 earned) over his last 18.2 innings, which simply isn't good enough. His ERA is up to 4.70 with a 1.23 WHIP and 63:24 K:BB over 90 innings across 17 starts. That's already his most innings in any seasons since 2021, so it's possible the right-hander may be struggling with a heavier workload after multiple years in a row impacted by injuries. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Rays.

Paddack allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out four in five innings Tuesday against the Mariners. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
All the damage against Paddack came in the third inning. The Mariners did not have an extra-base hit in the frame but managed to string together five runs due to some shaky pitching and a fielding error from Paddack himself. It's a third straight rough start for the 29-year-old righty, who's given up 18 runs (16 earned) over that span. Things won't get easier for Paddack, as he's set to face the Tigers on the road this weekend.

Paddack (3-6) picked up the win Thursday against the Reds, allowing four runs on six hits and no walks with three strikeouts over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Fresh off a nine-run, 12-hit start last week, Paddack failed to bounce back Thursday, yielding a trio of extra-base hits, including a two-run home run by Gavin Lux. It's been a very uncharacteristic stretch of play for Paddack, who had allowed two or fewer runs in six consecutive starts before his past two outings. On the year, Paddack owns a 4.48 ERA and a 56:23 K:BB across 80.1 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Mariners in his next start.
