Colabello went 4-for-4 with a double, a steal and two runs scored Wednesday against the Yankees.
The veteran outfielder went 2-for-4 in his first game Tuesday, so he's now sitting on a cool .750 average in the majors this year. He was killing the ball in Triple-A, but has been the epitome of a Quad-A player throughout his career, and it's hard to expect him to break out in the majors all of a sudden at age 31. He'll keep seeing some playing time as long as the Blue Jays' regular outfielders are banged up, though.

Colabello went 2-for-4 with a double in his first game of the season in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Yankees.
A lifetime .217 hitter in the majors, Colabello has limited fantasy value, but a multi-hit game in his first appearance of the year is certainly an encouraging sign for the Blue Jays. They've been hit with a rash of injuries in the outfield, which means Colabello may be playing with some regularity thanks to injuries to Danny Valencia and Jose Bautista.

Colabello will be called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Sportsnet.ca reports.
Colabello isn't on the 40-man roster, so the Jays will need to designate a player for assignment. While off to a fantastic start for Triple-A Buffalo this season, Colabello slashed just .229/.282/.380 over 220 plate appearances for the Twins last year, with a strikeout rate of 30 percent. He can hit for power and draw some walks, but the 31-year-old is also a poor defender who struggles to make contact. With Jose Bautista still limited to DHing until at least next week, Colabello may find it difficult to crack the starting lineup.

Colabello was named "Batter of the Week" in the International League after going 14-for-30 with five extra-base hits (three home runs and two doubles) for Triple-A Buffalo.
Colabello is having a very strong season in the minors thus far, hitting for a .367/.433/.650 slash line in 16 games with five home runs and 15 RBI. With how well Kevin Pillar and Dalton Pompey have been playing, coupled with the return of Michael Saunders, it will be difficult for Colabello to find a spot on the major league roster, but if he keeps up his strong form at the plate, he may end up forcing his way into the big leagues. Last season, he played in 59 games for the Twins, hitting for a .229/.282/.380 slash line, so fantasy owners will likely want to wait for him to get called up and then see how the 31-year-old performs before rostering him.

Colabello (thumb) was reassigned to minor league camp on Sunday, Scott MacArthur of TSN reports.
Colabello had been dealing with a thumb injury that lingered from last season; however, he had been healthy and playing through it for the first couple of weeks of the spring. Sending Colabello down likely means that Michael Saunders is ahead of schedule and should be ready by mid-April.

Colabello (thumb) was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.Colabello was removed from the 40-man roster to clear space for Jayson Aquino, who was traded to the team last Wednesday. He will receive an invite to spring training however, leaving the door open to a potential roster spot with a strong spring training, though it has become tougher now that he's not on the 40-man.

Colabello was designated for assignment on Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.
Colabello was a casualty of the Blue Jays' trade earlier on Wednesday to acquire Jayson Aquino as it left the team with too many on the 40-man roster. The 31-year-old was claimed off waivers by Toronto in December after posting a line of .229/.282/.380 in limited action with the Twins in 2014.

Colabello (thumb) was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Monday, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports.
He hit .239 with five home runs in 134 at-bats against righties last season before being demoted to Triple-A. The 31-year-old was also playing through a thumb injury for much of the season, and has seen a hand specialist already this offseason, so that should be factored in when evaluating his 2014 season and projecting his availability for 2015. Colabello can play first base and right field, but the Blue Jays will likely treat him as a bench bat heading into 2015.

Colabello saw a hand specialist on Wednesday, during which he underwent an MRI, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Colabello suffered the thumb injury all the way back on April 23, and he was never quite the same since. He had been hitting .346 prior to getting jammed by a Grant Balfour sinker, but proceeded to go on an 8-for-73 slump that led to his demotion to Triple-A. After collecting 27 RBI in April, the 30-year-old drove in just 12 more runs for the remainder of the season. Despite making an effort to treat the issue, Colabello's future with the Twins remains uncertain, as the team will have to decide by Nov. 20 whether to keep him on the 40-man roster, or make a move to allocate space for some younger prospects. If the two sides choose to part ways, playing overseas is one possibility for Colabello.

Colabello was optioned to Triple-A Rochester after Friday's game.
With Joe Mauer set to return from the DL as early as Monday and Kennys Vargas getting extended playing time, Colabello was set to be stuck on the bench. He'll likely be back in September in a limited role.
