Chris Colabello went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against the Blue Jays on Friday.
Colabello has hit three homers in his last four games and now has seven home runs in limited time this season. The first baseman hit an RBI single in the second inning before launching his two-run shot in the seventh. With Justin Morneau gone, the 29-year-old will have plenty of chances during this last month of the season to make an impression on the Twins brass.

Chris Colabello is likely to get more at-bats at first base with Justin Morneau gone.
Colabello has played outfield primarily but has logged 58 innings at first with the Twins this year, and with no better options ahead of him it seems as though the Twins will give the 29-year-old a chance to show what he's got in the season's final month. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Trevor Plouffe and Chris Herrmann will also see increased time at first base.

Twins recalled OF Chris Colabello from Triple-A Rochester.
Colabello was sent down last week despite a hot bat, but he gets to return with Joe Mauer on the DL. He'll see some playing time against left-handers.

Twins optioned OF Chris Colabello to Triple-A Rochester.
Colabello was given a shot at extended playing time over the last month and batted .243/.338/.429 with four homers over 22 games, but it wasn't enough to keep him around. He'll be back when rosters expand.

Chris Colabello is batting a blistering .409/.536/.727 with two homers in 28 plate appearances since August 6.
Entering play that day, Colabello was batting .164/.203/.262 over his first 21 games in the majors. Colabello, who played seven seasons in the Canadian-American Association, had a strong performance for Italy during the World Baseball Classic before obliterating Triple-A pitching (.354/.432/.652 with 24 homers and 76 RBI). The 29-year-old struggled mightily in his first stint with the Twins in late May and scuffled again when he was recalled in July. Now that he's no longer pressing -- and, more importantly, is getting consistent playing time in Minnesota -- the outfielder makes for a nice value in AL-only formats.

Chris Colabello went 2-for-4 with a home run Sunday agains the Mariners.
Colabello has struggled in his first 49 plate appearances with the Twins, but has now homered in two of his last three games. He's still batting only .208/.240/.333 this season and remains nothing more than an AL-only option.

Chris Colabello finally came through for the Twins on Friday, hitting a two-run homer in the top of the 13th in a 3-2 win over the Mariners.
Kendrys Morales brought the Mariners closer with a solo shot in the bottom of the 13th, but it wasn't enough. For Colabello, it was his first extra-base hit in 41 at-bats. He entered the night with a .135/.158/.135 line and one RBI, but the big blow should guarantee that he's included in Saturday's starting lineup.

Chris Colabello went 0-for-3 on Wednesday and is just 2-for-18 since his callup.
In two stints with the Angels this year, Colabello is hitting .118/.118/.118 in 34 at-bats. Now, 34 at-bats is practically nothing, but the 13/0 K/BB ratio hardly seems to bode well.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Saturday that Chris Colabello will be given a chance to play regularly.
"We just want to see him get some swings. The kid's done everything you can do in Triple-A," Gardenhire said. "He's earned a shot here. For the most part, he's going to get consistent swings." Colabello has started at DH in each of the first two games of the second half, contributing an RBI single Saturday. He's 29 and not really a prospect, but with a .354/.432/.652 batting line with 24 homers at Triple-A, he's worth a shot in deeper leagues.

Twins recalled INF/OF Chris Colabello from Triple-A Rochester.
Colabello has just two hits in 16 at-bats during his brief time with the Twins this season, but he's crushed the ball at Triple-A, batting .354/.432/.652 with 24 homers and 76 RBI. With Oswaldo Arcia and Chris Parmelee back in the minors, Colabello should get a shot at pretty regular playing time. He's worth a look in AL-only formats.
