D'Arnaud will compete with Jace Peterson for the primary utility spot on the Braves' bench, Zak Kerr of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
For a rebuilding club, the Braves actually have a fairly set starting lineup following the acquisition of Brandon Phillips, so playing time could be tough to come by for the team's bench. D'Arnaud did play everywhere but pitcher, catcher and first base in 2016, however, giving him a leg up in the battle. The team also lacks any depth in the outfield -- starters Matt Kemp, Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis are currently the only outfielders on the 40-man roster -- so if d'Arnaud or Peterson show they can handle center field on a semi-regular basis, they could see enough at-bats to become a viable option in deep NL-only leagues.

D'Arnaud will head into spring training as a favorite to win a spot on the Braves' bench.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old played six positions for Atlanta last season, and while the Sean Rodriguez signing does add another utility infielder to the mix, d'Arnaud is out of options and seems likely to keep his spot on the 25-man roster on Opening Day. His stay may be short-lived, however, as top prospect Ozzie Albies is knocking on the door and could seize the starting second base job in the first half, making d'Arnaud expendable.

D'Arnaud had a wart removed from his foot and will be out for a few days, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Daniel Castro was recalled to bolster the team's middle-infield depth while d'Arnaud is unavailable. D'Arnaud has seen his at-bats dry up (four at-bats this month) and he hasn't contributed much when given an opportunity, but he figures to compete for a utility role in spring training.

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud has failed to capitalize on his limited opportunities this month, going 6-for-33 with one extra-base hit and nine strikeouts. He figures to continue seeing only sporadic starts around the infield, and his at-bats may be dialed back even further in September if the team opts to evaluate more promising young talent.

D'Arnaud is replacing the scratched Jace Peterson in Atlanta's lineup Monday night against Arizona, batting seventh and playing second base.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud has been used sparingly in August, taking just 28 plate appearances in 13 games with a .555 OPS. It's unclear what's wrong with Peterson, but an injury may open more playing time for d'Arnaud in his absence. He owns a .253/.318/.346 line with one home run in 72 games this season.

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup with Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnuad will start the game on the bench for the sixth time since the start of the second half as Adonis Garcia fills in at third, batting fifth. After a 2-for-22 (.091) cold-stretch in the eight games entering the All-Star break, D'Arnaud has picked it up since then, collecting six hits in his last 19 at-bats (.316).

D'Arnaud got the start at shortstop and hit second Sunday, going 3-for-5 with the game's only RBI on a walkoff single in the ninth inning in a 1-0 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old journeyman finally seems to be establishing himself as a useful major leaguer after bouncing through numerous organizations prior to landing with the Braves, and d'Arnaud's now hitting a respectable .263/.335/.365 on the season.

d'Arnaud went 2-for-6 with a two-run homer Friday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
d'Arnaud's first homer of the year gave the Braves the lead in the fifth inning after trailing until that point. After not driving in a run in seven straight games, he's now driven in multiple runs in each of his last two contests.

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud was off to a hot start during his tenure with the Braves, but has fizzled out of late and has seems to have lost his starting job to Adonis Garcia, who will start for the third straight game. Furthermore, Jace Peterson seems to have settled in as the Braves' everyday option at second baseman and as their leadoff hitter, closing off another avenue to playing time for d'Arnaud.

D'Arnaud is not in the Braves starting lineup Thursday. Adonis Garcia will get the start at third base.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old has been struggling of late, hitting only .213 with 10 strikeouts over the last 14 days. On the season, d'Arnaud has yet to hit a home run and only has five RBI in 122 at-bats. Despite his struggles hitting for power, d'Arnaud has been able to get on base consistently, posting 11 doubles and getting on base at a .348 clip on the season.
