D'Arnaud pinch-hit for Drew Pomeranz and beat out an infield single in the fifth inning of Tuesday's 11-7 loss to Milwaukee. It was the d'Arnaud's first at-bat since joining the Red Sox on April 28.
EDGE Analysis
Until that point in the night, the Red Sox did very little against Wily Peralta despite the right-hander's inability to throw strikes. D'Arnaud then scored on a double by Mookie Betts, running through the stop sign put up by third base coach Brian Butterfield. The sequence served as a wake-up call for the offense but Boston's comeback was spoiled twice by its bullpen. With third base being the Red Sox's weakest of the field positions, there's an opportunity for d'Arnaud to establish a more regular presence in the lineup, particularly if he creates offense like he did Tuesday. At the very least, he'll be part of the pinch-hitting crew while Boston plays two more games in Milwaukee.

The Red Sox activated d'Arnaud on Friday, a day after claiming him on waivers, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The infielder will provide depth, especially at a third base position that's looking for stability with Pablo Sandoval (knee) on the disabled list. AL-only fantasy players could give him a try at a middle infielder spot.

D'Arnaud was claimed off waivers by the Red Sox on Thursday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud will take the roster spot of Carson Smith, who was moved to the 60-day DL to make room for the 30-year-old. With Pablo Sandoval (knee) and Brock Holt (vertigo) on the DL and Dustin Pedroia still hobbled, it isn't too surprising to see Boston scoop up the super-utility man. D'Arnaud was batting .375 in eight at-bats (11 games) with the Braves before being DFA'd Tuesday. He should offer immediate infield depth for the Red Sox.

D'Arnaud was designated for assignment by the Braves on Tuesday, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a somewhat surprising move, as d'Arnaud had been playing fairly well in a reserve super-utility role. In just 11 games played and 10 plate appearances, the 30-year-old was also batting .375 and picked up five runs, but it ultimately wasn't enough to save his spot on the roster. Lane Adams will come up to replace him in Atlanta, which will likely keep d'Arnaud in an organizational depth role unless injuries strike the big-league club.

d'Arnaud is 2-for-6 with one walk and two strikeouts during the early stages of the 2017 season.
EDGE Analysis
d'Arnaud has started only one game this season for the Braves, and continues to normally enter games as a pinch-hitter or pinch-runner. When he stays in the game, he has played in left field, usually replacing Jace Peterson. Emilio Bonifacio is Atlanta's fourth outfielder, ahead of d'Arnaud, and the 30-year-old utilityman could also see time in the infield, primarily at shortstop backing up Dansby Swanson.

D'Arnaud (illness) will man shortstop and bat second in the order in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud has been sidelined for much of the past two weeks with bronchitis, but after getting some swings in against minor-league pitching a day ago, the Braves have cleared him to return to spring training action. The 30-year-old is expected to vie for a utility role with the Braves, but doesn't have a clear path to everyday at-bats.

D'Arnaud (bronchitis) is scheduled to face minor league pitchers Monday and make his return to the Braves' Grapefruit League lineup Tuesday, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran utility man has missed two weeks of camp with the illness, but d'Arnaud still has plenty of time to solidify his spot on the team's bench before Opening Day.

D'Arnaud is still sidelined after developing bronchitis, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old also received the instructions to stay away from camp until he's not contagious, so it seems like he'll be held out for another few days. It shouldn't be of long-term concern, however, so d'Arnaud should resume his spot as the Braves primary super-utility player upon his return.

D'Arnaud has been battling the flu in recent days, David O'Brien of the AJC reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team has yet to announce how long D'Arnaud will be shelved with the illness, but O'Brien reports that the bug has hit a couple of players in the Braves' clubhouse. His temporary absence will likely lead to more at-bats for the likes of Dansby Swanson and Jace Peterson in exhibition games.

D'Arnaud is getting reps at first base this spring, Kevin McAlpin of Braves Radio Net reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's another tool for D'Arnaud as he competes against Jace Pederson for a primary utility role this season. The right-hander played all other infield and outfield positions last season and now could be used as a spell for Freddie Freeman if all goes well. D'Arnaud hit just .245 in 84 games with the Braves last year and seems set for a reserve role this coming season, regardless of where he plays on the field.
