Anderson threw 1.1 scoreless innings in Tuesday's victory over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson kept the opponent off the scoreboard for the first time in five appearances this season, and now sits with a 4.50 ERA over 10 innings. He has worked exclusively as a reliever up to this point of the season, but is an option to enter the rotation in place of the injured Freddy Peralta (shoulder). The Brewers have not yet announced how they will line up their starters in the coming days, but they will not have an off day until April 25, so they will need a fifth starter at some point before then.

Anderson allowed one run over three innings of relief and picked up his first win of the season in Friday's victory over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson served up a homer to Willson Contreras, but that was the only baserunner he allowed after replacing starter Brandon Woodruff in the top of the fifth inning. Anderson has allowed just two earned runs (3.60 ERA) and three hits while posting an 8:2 K:BB over five innings of relief this season, but he isn't on the verge of reclaiming a spot in the rotation as of now. He presumably would be the top option should the Brewers need another starter down the road, however.

Manager Craig Counsell said Anderson will open the season in the bullpen, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
After taking a step back in 2018 (3.93 ERA, 5.22 FIP), Anderson stumbled to a 7.07 ERA and 1.43 WHIP through 14 innings this spring, prompting the Brewers to turn to their younger arms -- Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta and Zach Davies -- to round out the rotation behind Jhoulys Chacin. "It's time for those young guys to start," Counsell said. The manager acknowledged that Anderson will get a chance to start at some point in 2019, though he'll work in relief moving forward.

Anderson ditched his altered delivery in Tuesday's spring start, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, and allowed two earned runs over four innings. He allowed six hits and posted a 4:1 K:BB in the outing.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson attempted using a Nolan Ryan-like, over-the-head windup to begin the spring, but he allowed nine earned runs over 10 innings, and decided to put a halt to the experiment in Tuesday's start. The results were mixed, but better, and manager Craig Counsell said Anderson had "the best velocity" he's had this spring. It's not clear which approach Anderson will choose to employ moving forward, but regardless, he figures to find himself somewhere in the Brewers' rotation when the regular season begins.

Anderson will test out an altered delivery this spring, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson will change a variety of small things, including keeping his back foot in contact with the rubber and raising his hands above his head. He was reportedly inspired to make a change by watching videos of Nolan Ryan, Max Scherzer and Nathan Eovaldi. If Anderson becomes the second coming of Nolan Ryan, the Brewers certainly wouldn't object, but any small improvements would help the team and help fantasy owners. The 31-year-old's decent 3.93 ERA last season hid a worrying 5.22 FIP, and his underlying numbers were generally unimpressive. Anderson's spring starts could give a clue as to whether the new delivery will truly bring new results for the veteran righty.

Anderson is not on the Brewers' roster for the NLDS versus the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Instead of adding a couple more starters, manager Craig Counsell opted to only carry three regulars from the rotation and move forward with multi-inning relievers such as Brandon Woodruff and Junior Guerra. Anderson hadn't pitched since Sept. 18 against the Reds and it became evident that Counsell just had more trust in other options during the homestretch.

Anderson won't make his scheduled Monday against the Cardinals, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson will be available if needed, but the Brewers will approach Monday's series opener as a bullpen game. He'll be lined up to make his final start of the regular season Sept. 30 against the Tigers, although that could change.

Anderson didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over five innings while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
It was another solid, if short, outing for the right-hander. Anderson's completed six innings only once in his last six starts, and while his 5.16 ERA over that stretch isn't pretty, it's been fueled by a 2.4 HR/9 -- his 1.21 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB in 29.2 innings are respectable. He'll try to give the Brewers more length Wednesday in a crucial road matchup against the Cubs.

Anderson (9-7) allowed four runs on seven hits with no walks across five innings while earning the win against the Pirates. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was spotted a big lead in the third inning and didn't allow his first run until the fifth. He then gave up a pair of home runs in the sixth which brought the visitors within two and was pulled before recording an out. Anderson avoided issuing a single walk for the second straight start, but he didn't throw the ball particularly well in any other regard and has failed to complete six innings in three of his previous four turns. His ERA has crept back up to 4.04 ahead of this weekend's matchup with the Nationals.

Anderson allowed two runs on two hits and no walks across six innings to earn the win Monday against the Reds. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson allowed a pair of solo home runs in the second inning, but he amazingly retired all 15 batters he faced in his other five frames on the evening. He required just 76 pitches in the outing, throwing 50 for strikes as he tied his highest strikeout total in nearly two months. Anderson received some extra rest after struggling over his previous two starts and appears to have responded quite well to the move. He'll take a 3.92 ERA into this weekend's matchup with the Pirates.
