Correa is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
There has been nothing to suggest this is anything other than a routine day off for the 20-year-old Correa after 22 consecutive starts to begin his major league career. Marwin Gonzalez will take over at short in place of Correa, will be afforded a bit of an extended rest with the Astros not playing Thursday.

Correa was a triple short of the cycle Saturday, going 3-for-5 with a run scored, two RBI and his fifth home run in 19 games.
He continues to make the majors look easy, slashing .301/.326/.566 in his first 83 at-bats. Despite the fact that his competition was given a two month head start, Correa seems intent on figuring into the AL Rookie of the Year race.

Correa hit his fourth home run in Tuesday's win over the Angels, part of a 3-for-6 night with four RBI and three runs scored.
Correa is hitting a robust .308/.338/.569, and that power has been the biggest shock from the 20-year-old shortstop. He now has nine major league extra-base hits and a whopping 13 home runs and 41 extra-base hits in just 67 games across all three levels he has played at this year. Correa struck out for the 16th time in 15 games, a moderate concern, but nearly everything else has been overwhelmingly positive from the 2012 first overall pick.

Correa doubled, walked, stole three bases and scored twice during Thursday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.
The 20-year-old shortstop became the second-youngest player in the past 100 seasons (behind Ricky Henderson) with three steals in a game. He's also reached base safely in all 10 games he's played thus far with the Astros.

Correa went 3-for-5 with a double, two-run homer and three RBI during Wednesday's 8-4 victory at Colorado. It was his third straight multi-hit game for the Astros.
Correa's first-inning home run off Rockies starter Kyle Kendrick was his third of the season. The 20-year-old shortstop has a 1.016 OPS through his first nine big league games thus far.

The 20-year-old has reached base in every game he's played for the Astros and he's hit safely in seven of them. With two more hits in Tuesday's 8-5 win over Colorado, Correa now has three multi-hit games this season.

Correa is batting second in Houston's lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.
It took all of four games for Correa to hit his way from around sixth in the lineup to near the top of the order. The 20-year-old registered 12 total bases in his first four career games and it seems that will be enough to give A.J. Hinch confidence to move him up. This should increase Correa's ability to score runs and give him more plate appearances as the season goes on.

Correa hit his second career major league home run against the Mariners on Friday.
The rookie shortstop is showing why he was drafted first overall in 2012, as he has two home runs through his first four major league games. Correa was the only man Felix Hernandez retired in a game where the Astros scored eight in the first inning, but the 20-year-old joined in on the fun with a solo home run off reliever Joe Beimel in the second inning.

Correa had his first standout game as a major leaguer Tuesday against the White Sox, as he went 2-for-4 with his first home run and first stolen base of his career.
This is why Houston picked Correa first overall in 2012. Correa is entering an American League shortstop pool that doesn't have a qualified hitter with an OPS above .750 or a slugging percentage above .425. It isn't hard to imagine Correa being the best hitting shortstop in the American League over the rest of the season.

Correa went 1-for-4 with an RBI infield single and a strikeout in his MLB debut on Monday.
Correa, who hit sixth in the lineup, drove in the Astros' only run on a night they mustered only five hits and struck out 16 times in the 3-1 loss. Expect the 20-year-old shortstop to move up in Houston's batting order sooner rather than later as the team looks to stay atop the AL West standings amidst a five-game losing streak.
