Correa was named Texas League Player of the Week after hitting .435 (10-for-23) with eight runs, two doubles, three home runs and seven RBI in five games last week, Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reports. Believe it or not, Correa couldn't remember winning a Player of the Week award at any level before the Texas League named him this past week's winner Monday. "I'm very proud," Correa said after receiving the honor. "It means a lot to me to be the first one and for it to be in the Texas League. They say it's a tough league, one of the toughest minor leagues, so it's very humbling." Entering Tuesday, the 20-year-old shortstop is hitting .382 while leading the Texas League in doubles (10), RBI (21), slugging percentage (.735), extra-base hits (15), runs (16) and total bases (50).

Correa, 20, is batting .356/.415/.661 with three home runs, 16 RBI and two stolen bases through 14 games for Double-A Corpus Christi. If we're being picky, Correa has struck out 15 times in 14 games. However, he has been tearing the cover off the ball, and along with Corey Seager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is arguably the top hitting prospect in baseball.

Correa is 10-for-29 (.345) with one home run, 10 RBI and one steal through seven games for Double-A Corpus Christi. Correa remains one of the best prospects in the game, and has shown no rust following last season's gruesome ankle injury.

Correa was reassigned to Astros' minor league camp on Sunday. In 18 Grapefruit League appearances, Correa hit .341 with a double, two home runs, five RBI and two stolen bases over 41 at-bats. He'll open 2015 with Double-A Corpus Christi after terrorizing California League pitching over 62 games with High-A Lancaster last year. "Carlos is going to be a star player in the big leagues. It's just a matter of time," Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said. "Having never had an at-bat in Double-A, he needs to go get some regular work in the high minors. He did a great job for us on the field as well as off the field, and I think he's got a lot of fans in the organization, and he impressed the big league staff -- which is what you want as a young player."
