Maybin is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins. Maybin has only started three of the Braves' first eight games, but he could get more at-bats once the team runs into more southpaws. Atlanta has thus far faced just one lefty starter, allowing Eric Young to have a regular spot atop the lineup. Nick Markakis is the Braves' only true everyday outfielder, with the rest of the at-bats split between Maybin, Young, Kelly Johnson and Jonny Gomes.

Maybin is out of the lineup Saturday against the Mets, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. Maybin quickly endeared himself to the Braves faithful, smacking a long ball in his first at-bat of Friday's home opener, but he will give way to Eric Young Jr. in center field and atop the order Saturday. It's uncertain how the playing time will be divvied up moving forward, but a timeshare of some sorts seems likely, though it's possible Young could start seeing time in left field eventually.

Maybin was 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a stolen base in the Braves win over the Mets on Friday night. It was his first homer and his first stolen bag of the year, but it appears he may be gradually taking over the lead role in centerfield. He hit out of the leadoff spot which further increases his potential value so fantasy owners will want to monitor his usage to see if this trend continues.

Maybin will start in center field and bat leadoff Friday against the Mets. The most notable news here is that the Braves tweaked the lineup and moved Maybin atop the order, which is excellent for his fantasy prospects, as he was hitting eighth Wednesday. Maybin's career splits show that he's slightly better against righties, so the fact that he is hitting leadoff against lefty Jon Niese suggests he may be taking hold of the center field job in Atlanta.

Maybin will start in center field and bat eighth against the Marlins on Wednesday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Maybin's start Wednesday marks his first of the season. While he will likely receive most of the starts in center against south paws, it appears manager Fredi Gonzalez won't hesitate to employ him sporadically against righties as well.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said he plans to play Maybin in center field Wednesday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The Braves are scheduled to face another right-handed pitcher Wednesday (Tom Koehler), but Gonzalez intends to slot right-handed bats Maybin and Jonny Gomes into the lineup for the first time this season. Maybin or Jace Peterson will likely lead off.

Maybin is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins. Maybin was with the Braves for Opening Day, less than 24 hours after being dealt from San Diego, and pushed Eric Young Jr. to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning. The former first-round pick (10th overall in 2005) struck out against A.J. Ramos in his lone at-bat. Young is manning center and leading off again Tuesday, and it's uncertain when Maybin may get his first opportunity to start.

Maybin was traded from the Padres to the Braves on Sunday, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports. Maybin was part of a blockbuster deal that sent Craig Kimbrel and Melvin Upton Jr. to the Padres in exchange for him, Carlos Quentin Matt Wisler and a draft pick. While he was believed to be the odd man out of the rotation in San Diego, he'll likely take on everyday center field duties with his new club in Atlanta.

Maybin is still in the mix for one of the final spots on San Diego's 25-man roster, the Union-Tribune reports. Maybin is batting .319 this spring with five RBI in 47 at-bats. While Maybin's batting average has been better than expected, he has had his struggles at the dish with 15 strikeouts. Will Venable, Carlos Quentin, Tommy Medica, and Maybin are all vying for a roster spot. If Maybin makes the Opening Day roster, he will likely do so as the team's fifth outfielder.

Maybin is hoping to push his way into the starting center field job this spring, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Defensively, Maybin is the best option available on the Padres' current roster, but the competition for playing time is led by Wil Myers as spring training gets underway. Myers could become an option at first base, however, which would leave Will Venable to compete with Maybin for time in center. With just 302 at-bats over the past two seasons combined, Maybin is looking to regain his 2011 form (.264, nine homers, 40 steals) with two years remaining on the five-year contract he signed with the Padres in the spring of 2012.
