Brian McCann homered in a second straight game Friday to give the Braves their only two runs against the Giants. McCann homered off Ryan Vogelsong on Thursday and Matt Cain tonight. It didn't seem likely that he'd come out of the gates quite this well after returning from shoulder surgery this week. It's great news for the Braves, though.

Brian McCann went 3-for-5 with his first home run and three RBI in a 6-3 win over the Giants on Thursday. McCann smacked a two-run homer in the second inning and later had an RBI single in a four-run fifth inning. The Braves figure to give him regular rest in the early going, but he has a chance to be a nice bounce-back candidate now that his shoulder is no longer an issue. Make sure he is owned in all fantasy formats.

Brian McCann is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Reds. McCann played back-to-back games after coming off the disabled list, so he'll get a rest with the early start time. Gerald Laird is starting behind the plate Wednesday while Evan Gattis will play left field.

Brian McCann hit a two-run single, his first hit of the year, in the first inning of Tuesday's loss to the Reds. McCann delivered with the bases loaded after going 0-for-4 in his season debut on Monday. The catcher is just 1-for-8 to start the year, but he took little time reclaiming the Braves' starting catcher role and should get better as he plays more. McCann had a down 2012, but healthy and hitting in the middle of a potent Braves lineup, there's reason to believe in the 29-year-old as a bounce-back candidate.

Brian McCann went 0-for-4 with a walk Monday in his season debut against the Reds. McCann hit sixth tonight, with Evan Gattis one spot ahead of him and playing left field. McCann is expected to catch again on Tuesday before getting Wednesday off.

The Braves plan to have Brian McCann catch Monday and Tuesday before giving him the day off on Wednesday. He'll then start Thursday and Friday in San Francisco before resting on Saturday. Making his season debut Monday, McCann should be 100 percent owned in fantasy leagues for the time being even though he's coming off a rocky 2012 campaign.

Braves activated C Brian McCann from the 15-day disabled list. McCann will return to Atlanta's starting lineup on Monday night after missing the first five weeks of the regular season with a shoulder injury. Catcher is a refreshingly deep position this year in fantasy leagues, but the veteran should be owned in most standard formats. He's a .279/.351/.475 career hitter in the majors.

Brian McCann (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list Monday against the Reds. After opening the season on the DL, McCann will finally make 2013 debut. He went 8-for-23 with four home runs and nine RBIs in seven rehab games. The Braves to use McCann as everyday catcher right away, so he'll likely split time with Evan Gattis and Gerald Laird. Gattis will also continue to see time in left field.

Brian McCann (shoulder) will serve as the designated hitter Friday with Triple-A Gwinnett. After playing four games with Low-A Rome, McCann joined Gwinnett on Thursday night. He's expected to get back behind the plate on Saturday before getting two or three at-bats on Sunday. If all goes according to plan, he should be activated from the disabled list for Monday's game against the Reds.

Brian McCann (shoulder) expects to be activated from the disabled list on May 6 for the start of the Braves' series in Cincinnati. McCann will remain on a rehab assignment through the end of the week and will be activated early next week as long as he doesn't have a setback. "I'll be ready," McCann said. "Where I'm at right now, I feel really good." The catcher is hitting 273/.385/.909 with a pair of homers in three rehab games so far. With Jason Heyward slated to be sidelined until the end of May, Evan Gattis will likely see plenty of starts in the outfield once McCann returns.
