Phillips is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Tony Renda will take over at the keystone as Phillips sits following nine consecutive starts. Phillips posted just a .670 OPS before the All-Star break but is batting .346/.368/.486 in the second half, with 16 hits in 40 September at-bats.

Phillips went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
He continues to swing a hot bat, and Phillips has followed up his .351/.378/.521 August with an even better .382/.400/.559 line through his first 34 at-bats in September. The 35-year-old clearly has plenty left in the tank.

Phillips (foot) is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips has been listed in the initial lineups for both of the Reds' last two games, only to be scratched hours before game time due to a sore foot. While it's encouraging to see that he's tentatively in line to start at second base and bat fifth in the order, it's worthwhile to check back on the Reds' lineup closer to the 1:10 ET start time just to ensure Phillips is still playing.

Updating a previous report, Phillips (foot) has been scratched from Sunday's lineup due to a sore left foot.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips fouled a ball off his foot in Friday's contest, which led to him getting scratched Saturday. Although he was in Sunday's initial lineup, the Reds will take it easy with the veteran and decide to rest him another day. The recently-added Hernan Iribarren will man the keystone in his stead.

Phillips (foot) is back in the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips was a late scratch Saturday due to foot soreness, but he'll return to bat cleanup for the Sunday afternoon series finale. The veteran infielder will look to keep his hot bat going, as he owns a .904 OPS since Aug. 2.

EDGE Analysis
Phillips was set to start Saturday, but he will be unable to go due to soreness that he picked up when he fouled a ball off his foot in Friday's game. Jose Peraza will enter the lineup in Phillips' place.

Phillips went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base and scored a run in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Phillips renaissance continued Wednesday, as he picked up a pair of doubles to bring his season total to 26, the most he's had since the 2012 campaign. The second baseman is on pace to score more runs than he has since 2013 while finishing with his highest on-base percentage in four seasons. Phillips has been on fire since the All-Star break, going 35-for-96 (.365) with 10 doubles, 16 RBI and 15 runs scored. He's also picked up his game on the bases, swiping four bags since the Midsummer Classic after notching just five steals in the first half of the year.

Phillips (knee) is back in the lineup Wednesday hitting cleanup against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
He missed two games with the knee ailment but is back to man the keystone for Wednesday's contest against Andrew Cashner and the Marlins. It would stand to reason that the Reds might want to get players like Dilson Herrera and Jose Peraza some valuable big league at-bats down the stretch. However, to this point the team has been unwilling to dial back Phillips' playing time, so he could very well continue to play almost every day over the rest of the season.
