Pfaadt (1-2) took the loss against the Padres on Saturday, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over six innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Pfaadt struggled with San Diego's lineup throughout the contest, allowing hits to three of the first four batters he faced and surrendering three runs over the first four innings -- though one of those was unearned on account of a fielding error by Blaze Alexander. The right-hander was later relieved by Brandon Hughes in the seventh after surrendering back-to-back singles to open the frame, which led to an eight-run inning for the Padres. Despite his struggles on the night, Pfaadt still managed to log his second consecutive quality start and has now posted a 15:0 K:BB over his last two outings. However, he also allowed a season-high 10 hits in Saturday's loss and hasn't posted a win since March 31.

Pfaadt did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 11 over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Pfaadt did not get off to an ideal start after allowing a leadoff home run to Josh Rojas, though he was able to settle in quickly with the only other extra-base hit being a triple by Leonardo Rivas. Pfaadt ended his day by retiring the final 11 batters he faced. His 11 strikeouts set a new career high, and he relied heavily on his sweeper, registering nine of his 17 whiffs on that pitch. He's now allowed two runs or fewer in three straight starts and will take a 4.63 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38:6 K:BB into his next start, projected to come against San Diego next weekend.

Pfaadt yielded two runs on two hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out four in the loss against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Pfaadt stifled the Cardinals over five shutout innings before a two-run single by Lars Nootbaar knocked him out of the game in the sixth. Since earning a win in his season debut, Pfaadt has allowed 15 earned runs over his last 24 innings. Despite striking out only four batters, he forced 10 whiffs Monday, his second-highest total of the season. Pfaadt will carry a 4.97 ERA into his next outing, which is projected to be in Seattle this weekend.

Pfaadt (1-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits over seven innings in a loss to the Cubs on Wednesday. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Pfaadt kept Chicago's offense at bay over the first four innings, allowing just two singles over that stretch. However, he ran into some trouble in the fifth after Nico Hoerner reached base in the leadoff at-bat following a fielding error from Eugenio Suarez. The right-hander would only be charged for one of the two runs that came home in the frame, though he would go on to allow another run in the sixth, this time via a solo homer off the bat of Cody Bellinger. Pfaadt has now allowed at least three runs in each of his last three starts and has also surrendered six or more hits in each of those outings. He's also posted a 17:3 K:BB over that stretch.

Pfaadt did not factor in the decision after six innings of work Friday. He allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four in the loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals rushed Pfaadt quickly Friday, highlighted by Nolan Arenado's three-run shot in the first inning. After they scored another run in the second, Lars Nootbaar went deep in the third. Pfaadt has been crushed for 11 runs over his last two starts, spiking his season ERA to 6.48 with a 17:3 K:BB through 16.2 frames. He's currently lined up to face the Cubs at home next week.

Pfaadt gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Saturday. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The good is that Pfaadt induced a career-high 20 swinging strikes on 87 pitches in addition to the seven strikeouts. The bad is that his final line still didn't look great and he wasn't able to secure a win even after being spotted a 6-0 lead before taking the mound. Pfaadt does now boast a 13:1 K:BB over his first 10.2 innings this season.

Pfaadt (1-0) yielded a run on five hits over five frames Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Pfaadt cruised through four shutout innings before the Rockies finally pushed a run home in the fifth. The 25-year-old righty had just six punchouts through 10.2 frames in Cactus League play but showed better strikeout stuff Sunday. While he threw 61 of 87 pitches for strikes, only eight of those were whiffs. Pfaadt is riding momentum from the 2023 postseason and will look to keep it rolling in his next outing, which is projected to be in Atlanta.

Pfaadt allowed four runs on four hits while striking out one over 2.2 innings in Sunday's start against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Pfaadt was removed after he retired just two of the first six batters and then re-inserted to pitch the second and third innings. He set down the side in order after coming back into the game. Despite the results, Pfaadt told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com that the outing was the best he felt in three spring starts. He's slotted in as the Diamondbacks' No. 4 starter.

Pfaadt allowed one run on two hits while striking out one over two innings in Monday's spring start against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Pfaadt, who made his second Cactus League start, was pleased with the results, particularly in the sequencing of his changeup and slider, per Jack Magruder of MLB.com. "We figured some things out," Pfaadt said. "The slider is going to get better as we go. Something clicks every game, and that's a win. Fastball location, I can do better getting ahead." Both he and the Diamondbacks coaching staff are focusing on his pitch mix, which was credited for Pfaadt's success over the second half of 2023.
