Parnell (elbow) threw 17 pitches in a minor league game Wednesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports. Parnell threw nearly exclusively fastballs, and still remains a ways off from returning, but threw both four-seam and two-seam fastballs. His velocity was okay, touching 90-91 MPH on the day, but he's still in the process of rebuilding strength.

Parnell's (elbow) threw 20 pitches in a minor-league game Saturday and will next pitch in a game Wednesday, ESPN New York reports. Parnell said Sunday that he felt "good soreness with no ill-effects from the Tommy John surgery." He will likely progress solely the remainder of training camp and should be back on the Mets by late-April.

Parnell's (elbow) first game action of the spring has been pushed back a day and he now will pitch Saturday and not Friday, ESPN New York reports. No reason has been provided for the change, but the one day delay is likely not a major deal. It won't change Parnell's probable return period of late-April. However, any further delays could result in that timeframe getting moved back.

Parnell (elbow) will see his first game action of the spring Friday, ESPN New York reports. Parnell, who is returning from Tommy John surgery last April and been slowed by a left-hamstring issue, will pitch in a minor-league game. Presuming he has no setbacks, Parnell is likely to remain on the disabled list and miss the first 3-4 weeks of the season.

Parnell (elbow), who was to pitch in a game for the first time this spring Tuesday in minor league camp, will instead throw one more bullpen session before returning to game action, ESPN New York reports. No word has been given about any sort of setback and it may just be that the Mets are being cautious with Parnell, who dealt with a left hamstring strain early in camp. Parnell is likely to be sidelined all of April and return to the Mets in early-May.

Parnell (elbow) will pitch in a game Tuesday in minor league camp, The Record's Matt Ehalt reports. He threw off a mound Friday and seems to be progressing as expected. Parnell is currently slated to open the season on the DL, but could return to a high-leverage role in the Mets' bullpen by early May. However, at that point, Jenrry Mejia may already have a firm hold on the closer gig.

Parnell (elbow/hamstring) threw off a mound Friday, NJ.com's Mike Vorkunov reports. Parnell's recent hamstring tweak seems like a non-issue as he tries to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. He'll open the season on the disabled list, but the Mets hope to have him ready by early May. With Jenrry Mejia set to open the season in the closer's role, Parnell will work as a setup man or middle reliever.

Parnell tweaked his landing leg Tuesday and will not throw for a couple days, The Record's Matt Ehalt reports. The real thing to watch with Parnell is his recovery from elbow surgery, not this leg ailment, which he should be over by the end of the week. Look for him to open the year on the disabled list, and possibly get a shot at closing later in the season if Jenrry Mejia is struggling with the role.

Parnell (elbow) faced batters Thursday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April, ESPN New York reports. Parnell was originally supposed to face batters this weekend but that timeframe was moved up slightly. The batters only tracked pitches and did not swing but it was the next step in Parnell's recovery and return from the surgery. Parnell is still expected to open the year on the disabled list and possibly come off as early as May 1.

Parnell (elbow) will face batters this weekend for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April, ESPN New York reports. Parnell will still open 2015 on the disabled list, as Mets manager Terry Collins estimates the right-hander won't be activated until early May. Even that timetable may be a bit optimistic, given that most pitchers need 12-to-18 months to rehab from Tommy John surgery.
