Heaney allowed three earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight across eight innings Sunday against the Athletics. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
This was one of Heaney's best outings of the season as he allowed only two baserunners after he allowed a two-run home run to Mark Canha in the second inning. He exited the game with a 5-3 lead and what appeared to be his fourth win of the season locked up, however, the shaky Angels bullpen blew his chance at a win in the ninth inning. Sunday's start was a nice bounceback effort for Heaney, as he had allowed three home runs and five earned runs in his previous start.

Heaney (3-4) threw a complete-game shutout Tuesday against the Royals, issuing one hit and one walk while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney was fantastic in Tuesday's outing, allowing just three batters to reach base by way of a single, a walk and a hit-by-pitch. The lefty went the distance on 116 pitches (81 for strikes), lowing his ERA to 3.12 in the process. Heaney is limiting opponents to a .218 batting average, and sports a 58:19 K:BB in 60.2 innings. His next start will be a matchup with the Mariners in Seattle.

Heaney (2-4) took the loss Thursday against the Tigers, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk across five innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
All five runs charged against Heaney -- and five of the eight hits -- came in the first inning as the Tigers sent all nine men up to the plate. He settled in from there, however, allowing just two runners to reach second base over his final four frames. The 26-year-old, who had allowed just five runs over his previous five starts (32.1 innings) before Thursday, still owns a respectable 3.66 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 9.4 K/9 on the season. Heaney will look to get back on track in his next start, which will come at home against the Royals.

Heaney allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
This road matchup in New York represented the toughest tough yet for Heaney, and he passed with flying colors. Heaney got 15 called strikes and 17 swinging strikes on 97 pitches -- arguably even more impressive than Luis Severino was on the other side. Heaney has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last six starts, lowering his ERA to 3.09 through 46.2 innings this season. The lefty lines up for a road matchup in Detroit next week.

Heaney (2-2) struck out 10 over eight innings and allowed just one run on four hits and a walk in a victory Monday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney not only turned in his best start of the season Monday night, he did so against one of the best lineups in the American League. He completed more than six innings and struck out more than nine for the first time this season. Since a disastrous outing his second time out against San Francisco (4.1 innings, seven earned runs), Heaney has allowed just five earned runs in 25 innings (1.80 ERA) with 26 strikeouts against six walks. The 27-year-old is looking as strong as he ever has in his career and will try to stay hot Saturday against the Rays.

Heaney (1-1) held the Orioles to one run on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts through six innings to pick up the win Wednesday night.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney has been on a roll his past two starts, as he has allowed just two earned runs and walked just two batters over 11 combined innings. Last time out against the Yankees, Heaney struck out nine; this time, he induced nine groundballs as he instead rode a pitch-to-contact approach to victory. Over 20.1 innings this year, Heaney has a brilliant 24:5 K:BB. Struggles with home runs have plagued him throughout his career, but if Heaney can figure out how to keep the ball in the yard, he'll be a strong addition to the middle of the Angels rotation.

Heaney (0-1) was rocked for seven earned runs on six hits over 4.1 innings, striking out six and walking two, taking the loss in the Angels' 8-1 defeat to the Giants on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Heaney was coming off a strong start in his first outing of the year against the Royals that saw him strike out seven and give up three earned runs in five innings, but he couldn't follow it up with a similar effort against the Giants, who torched him for a six-run fifth inning. He'll look to get right the ship in his next start against a tough Yankees lineup next Friday.

Heaney came away with a no-decision in his 2018 debut Friday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over five innings while striking out seven in a 5-4 win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander threw 54 of 85 pitches for strikes, and he was on the hook for the loss before the Angels' offense was able to stage a rally against the Royals' bullpen. Heaney isn't a good bet to rack up a lot of innings this year -- he's thrown only 55.1 frames across all levels over the last two seasons due to Tommy John surgery in July 2016 -- but he's capable of solid fantasy performances when he is on the mound. He'll get a tougher test in his next outing Wednesday at home against the Red Sox.

EDGE Analysis
Heaney will make his 2018 debut in the majors after pitching six inning for High-A Inland Empire on Friday and tossing a bullpen session earlier this week. He will go up against a struggling Royals club that has scored a major-league worst 32 runs and is hitting just .226 collectively.
