Alfredo Simon (groin) has decided to delay Friday's bullpen session.
He's still feeling his groin injury but is expected to throw in a day or two. Barring a setback, he should have enough time to be ready for Opening Day.

Alfredo Simon said he reaggravated his groin strain in the second inning of Sunday's game.
Simon still believes he'll make his next start. As a reliever, he only needs a handful of Grapefruit League appearances to get sufficiently tuned up for the regular season. We expect him to be fine on Opening Day.

Alfredo Simon has been acquitted of an involuntary manslaughter charge.
Defense attorney Dinora Dilone said that experts testified that the bullet that killed 25-year-old Michel Castillo Almonte "did not come from Simon's gun and that no witnesses saw the pitcher fire his weapon." Simon faced up to two years in prison if convicted, but he's now a free man and can report to spring training for the Orioles with this behind him.

Alfredo Simon allowed three runs on six hits in eight innings on Friday, taking a no-decision in Baltimore's 4-3, 11-inning loss to the Tigers.
Tonight was just the second time in 18 career starts that Simon was able to complete eight innings of work. Now the owner of a 4.85 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 81/37 K/BB ratio through 111 1/3 innings, Simon should get the Red Sox at home in Baltimore's season finale on Wednesday.

Alfredo Simon pitched well in a losing effort Monday, permitting three Yankees runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings.
He struck out six, with the big blow coming in the form of a Nick Swisher two-run shot. He struggled at the beginning of the month, but Simon has now pitched well in two straight starts and has been about as good as the Orioles could have hoped when they thrust him into the rotation. He'll try to get back on track this weekend in Tampa.

Alfredo Simon dominated a punchless Twins lineup on Tuesday evening, allowing just one run on three hits in eight innings of an 8-1 Orioles victory.
He struck out eight and walked one. Simon's only real mistake of the evening came in the third inning, where he served up a solo home run to Danny Valencia. Tonight was the first time in nine starts this season that he was able to complete eight innings of work. He'll take a 4.30 ERA and 1.41 WHIP into his Sunday start against the Yankees.

Alfredo Simon could start for the Orioles Tuesday if Jeremy Guthrie (shoulder) is unavailable.
Guthrie had his last start skipped but will throw a bullpen session Sunday to see if he can take the ball Tuesday or Wednesday. Simon made his eighth start of the season on Wednesday, but he had been slated to go back to the bullpen with Brian Matusz and Zach Britton rejoining the rotation.

Alfredo Simon allowed six runs (four earned) on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings on Sunday, falling to 3-5 in Baltimore's 7-2 loss to the Blue Jays.
Simon was yanked after allowing the first home run of Brett Lawrie's career with two outs in sixth inning. Coming into today, Simon had yet to allow more than three runs in any of his five starts. He remains worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues.

Alfredo Simon allowed three runs on seven hits over five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
He was simply outclassed by Ricky Romero in this one. Simon did strike out seven while allowing only two walks. He hasn't allowed more than three runs in four starts since moving into the rotation and as such is useable in deeper AL-only leagues. He'll take a 4.23 ERA into a weekend matchup against the Yankees.
