Alfredo Simon pitched well in a losing effort Monday, permitting three Yankees runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six, with the big blow coming in the form of a Nick Swisher two-run shot. He struggled at the beginning of the month, but Simon has now pitched well in two straight starts and has been about as good as the Orioles could have hoped when they thrust him into the rotation. He'll try to get back on track this weekend in Tampa.
