Ramos (finger) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, retroactive to Aug. 6, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos is dealing with a broken ring finger which will keep him sidelined until at least Aug. 21, but it could very well take longer for him to get back on the hill. His injury comes at an unfortunate time for the Marlins as they are legitimate playoff contenders for the first time in years. Fernando Rodney, given his experience, figures to be the closer while Ramos is sidelined.

Ramos (finger) is expected to be placed on the DL on Tuesday, Andy Slater of 940 AM WINZ in Miami reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos has been dealing with a jammed finger since late last week, and it caused him to be unavailable during Monday's 14-inning loss to the Giants. While the team is yet to make an official announcement, it appears as though the right-hander will head to the DL with a corresponding move expected later in the day Tuesday.

Ramos is dealing with a jammed right middle finger and is considered day-to-day, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was available to pitch Monday during the 14-inning loss to the Giants, but he ended up being the only unused pitcher left in the bullpen as manager Don Mattingly erred on the side of caution. The 29-year-old did, however, pick up his 32nd save Friday while dealing with the same finger injury. Although that was his last outing, even when a save opportunity arose Sunday (given to Fernando Rodney).

Ramos struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to register his 32nd save of the season Friday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
It was a bounce-back effort for Ramos who walked three and allowed three runs in his previous appearance. The 29-year-old closer has struggled with control at times this season, but overall he's converted 32-of-34 save chances while piling up a 3.05 ERA and 1.33 WHIP and 56 strikeouts over 44.1 innings pitched this season.

Ramos allowed three runs-one earned-in 0.2 innings on Monday against the Phillies. He allowed one hit, walked one, hit a batter, and struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
The closer should get back on track in short order, as he has only blown one save all season. This month hasn't been Ramos' finest-allowing four of his 11 earned runs this season in July. However, Ramos owns a strong 2.21 ERA and should continue to be a force at the back of the Marlins' bullpen for the remainder of the season.

Ramos pitched a perfect 10th inning Tuesday, striking out two to preserve a 2-1 lead and earn his 31st save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos has been one of the game's elite closers this season, second in all of baseball with 31 saves. Although Miami traded for San Diego closer Fernando Rodney, who has a 0.96 ERA, before the All-Star break, Ramos is still clearly the closer and should have a long leash to boot with just one blown save, a 2.03 ERA and .181 opponent's batting average on the season.

Ramos pitched a scoreless ninth inning while allowing a hit and striking out one to earn his 29th save of the year Sunday at the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was protecting a three-run lead and had little problem as he closed out the contests on 15 pitches. After blowing his first save of the year on July 1, he now has converted his last five save opportunities, and his ERA is at 2.13 on the year.

Ramos pitched a scoreless ninth inning on two hits while striking out three to notch his 28th save of the year Friday at the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos worked around a pair of singles by striking out three batters to preserve a one-run victory for the Marlins. After blowing his first save of the season on July 1, he's now converted his last four save opportunities, and his ERA is at 2.19.

Ramos threw a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts against the Reds on Friday en route to his 26th save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
After converting 24 straight save opportunities to begin the campaign, Ramos blew a chance June 1 and then gave up two runs his next time out in a non-save situation. He seems to have settled back down with back-to-back scoreless appearances this week. Ramos breezed through the heart of the Reds' order Friday, retiring Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and Adam Duvall on a total of 12 pitches. He seems well secure in his role but his margin for error is a bit slimmer with Fernando Rodney now in town.

Ramos worked around a walk to pick up his 25th save of the season Tuesday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The closer failed the record a strikeout for just the second time in his last 16 appearances. However, Ramos rebounded nicely from two consecutive poor showings against the Braves over the weekend, one of which he blew his only save of the year. The recently-acquired Fernando Rodney played the role of set-up man, giving up a home run and a walk during the eighth innings. Despite the addition of Rodney, Ramos' job is more than secure moving forward.
