Ramos collected his 37th save of the year on Sunday, walking one batter over a scoreless inning against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos took a loss on Friday but bounced back nicely in the series finale to earn the save and keep the Marlins' playoff hopes afloat. Despite a few hiccups, Ramos is putting together another strong season at the back end of the Miami pen, posting a 3.05 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 68 strikeouts in 59 innings pitched.

Ramos tossed a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to secure his 36th save against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos has re-taken a firm grasp of the Marlins closer role and continues to round into form after missing time with a finger issue. On the year he is sitting with a 3.02 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while converting 36 of 39 save opportunities.

Ramos struck out two in a clean ninth inning Tuesday against the Braves to notch his 35th save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
After stumbling out of August (8.22 ERA and two losses), Ramos has gotten back on track in September. Through six appearances this month, 29-year-old hasn't allowed a run while striking out seven over 5.1 innings. He's now 35-for-38 in save chances this season and owns a strong 3.07 ERA to go alongside 66 strikeouts in 55.2 innings (59 games).

Ramos needed just two pitches to record a one-out save in Sunday's win over the Dodgers, his 34th of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Jose Urena came within one out of a shutout but was beginning to flag after 108 pitches, so Ramos got the call to finish the job. It's was his second save in three days and it looks like he's regained the closer spot from Fernando Rodney, although manager Don Mattingly might not hesitate to make a switch again if Ramos hits another rough patch.

Ramos pitched a scoreless inning en route to his 33th save on Friday. He allowed no walk or hits and struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
This was Ramos' first converted save opportunity in over a month, but it only came because interim closer Fernando Rodney was pulled in the ninth after allowing a home run and two more baserunners without recording an out. By cleaning up the mess, Ramos may have earned himself some more save opportunities moving ahead.

Ramos was charged with a blown save during Monday's loss to the Mets allowing one run on three hits in the eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos was tasked to protect a 1-0 lead in the eighth inning but could not keep the Mets off the board and the Marlins would go on to lose in the 10th. The poor outing is hardly a worry for the veteran reliever who holds a 2.92 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 49.2 innings pitched this season, but his appearance in the eighth inning confirms that Fernando Rodney, who took over as closer when Ramos hit the disabled list earlier in August, remains in the role. Though manager Don Mattingly had noted once Ramos was able to throw on back-to-back days he would once-again see save opportunities, recent actions have indicated that may no longer be the case.

Ramos struck out one in clean inning in Wednesday's win over the Royals to earn his second hold.
EDGE Analysis
That makes three straight scorless innings for Ramos since he returned from the disabled list and, more notably, Wednesday represented the first time he's appeared in back-to-back games since his return. His ability to get on the hill for consecutive games was the qualifier that manager Don Mattingly pointed when questioned if/when Ramos would retake his closer position from Fernando Rodney so it would appear that he's ready to step back in. Rodney has been effective, but did load the bases before escaping with the save Wednesday. It would not be a surprise if Ramos got the next opportunity.

Ramos (finger) picked up his first hold of the season in Sunday's win over the Pirates, needing just 11 pitches to fire a perfect eighth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Fernando Rodney got the save Sunday, but now that Ramos is off the DL and appears to be 100 percent expect those roles to reverse themselves once again, with Ramos handling closing duties going forward.

The Marlins activated Ramos (finger) from the disabled list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Ramos is set to return to action after missing just over two weeks with a broken finger. He should presumably reclaim the closer's duties having converted 32 of his 34 save opportunities this season, but Fernando Rodney excelled in the ninth-inning role in his absence, and manager Don Mattingly hinted that he would wait to put Ramos back in that spot until he was able to pitch consecutive days, so it may not happen immediately.

Ramos will throw a simulated game Friday and could be activated from the disabled list as early as Sunday, >a href="http://m.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/196356620/marlins-wait-on-adam-conley-ramos-near-return/">MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It sounds as though Manager Don Mattingly will wait until Ramos is ready to pitch on back-to-back days before re-inserting him into the closer role, but expressed confidence in his ability to get back in there noting, "if he's throwing the ball good, there's no reason ...he hasn't done anything to say he shouldn't be that guy." Fernando Rodney has converted all four of his save chances while Ramos has been sidelined.
