Eaton is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
J.B. Shuck will take over in center field and lead off against right-hander Vincent Velasquez, pushing Eaton to the bench after 29 consecutive starts. While Eaton's role in center field does not appear to be in jeopardy, there has been some talk recently that his spot atop the order may be. Eaton is getting on base at just a .288 clip so far this year, down from .362 in 2014.

Eaton went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the White Sox's loss to the Tigers on Sunday.
Manager Robin Ventura threatened to pull Eaton from the leadoff spot, and Eaton responded with a two-hit performance. The pair of hits aside, there are few options on the roster to replace Eaton in the No. 1 slot. Eaton's .295 embarrassingly ranks fifth among Sox regulars, and three of the guys ahead of him (Adam LaRoche, Jose Abreu, and Avisail Garcia) are unlikely to abandon the middle third of the order.

Eaton's spot atop the order could be in jeopardy, the Chicago Tribune's Paul Sullivan reports.
Manager Robin Ventura said that while he would consider moving Eaton out of the leadoff spot, he would leave him there for now. A lot of Eaton's perceived value before the season stemmed from his spot atop the order, as it was a spot that he figured to threaten to score 100-plus runs from. He is on pace to get to 90-plus runs (31 currently), but he is also getting on base at a .297 clip, which is the reason the White Sox may consider a change.

Eaton went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the White Sox's loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.
Eaton's home run in the third accounted for all of the White Sox's runs in what turned out to be a tromping by the Rangers. Eaton has already matched his career-best in home runs (with three), but he has yet to warm up at the plate or on the basepaths as we might have expected.

Eaton went 2-for-4 Saturday with a triple, a run scored and an RBI.
One day after seeing his 10-game hitting streak snapped, Eaton bounced right back with a multi-hit effort. He's now slashing a respectable .286/.342/.457 in 70 May at-bats.

Eaton went 1-for-4 with his first home run of the season in the White Sox's loss to the Indians on Wednesday.
His home run in the the third was the first (and only) run the White Sox scratched on a suddenly stingy Shaun Marcum. Eaton has been able to turn things around a bit in May, and he has a hit in 12 of 14 games this month. Eaton has just one steal on the year, but at least he is getting on base with a bit more frequency. At the very least, that should result in an increased production of runs in a White Sox lineup that should turn it around.

Eaton went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in the 4-3 win over the A's on Saturday.
This is back-to-back two-hit two-run games for Eaton, who finally seems to be finding some form. He still only has a .292 OBP, which is just not good enough for any leadoff hitter.

Eaton went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in the 7-6 win over Oakland Friday.
Eaton. much like most of the White Sox lineup, has struggled this season, batting only .226. With an OBP of .288, Eaton's leadoff spot could be in jeopardy if he doesn't start getting on base.

Eaton went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI in the White Sox's loss to the Brewers on Monday.
Eaton has had a stupendously-slow start to his season, with an OBP under .300, zero home runs, and just one steal in two attempts. However, he has been a bit better over his past 19 games, with a .341 OBP and six extra-base hits over his last 85 plate appearances. Regardless of how well (or not well) he is hitting, he remains entrenched atop the White Sox's lineup.

Eaton is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds.
Eaton continues to hover around the .200 mark on the season, an unappealing number for a potential leadoff hitter. Following an 0-for-3 day at the plate Saturday, he'll take a seat Sunday in favor of J.B. Shuck in center field, batting ninth for the White Sox.
