Sanchez did not factor into the decision during Thursday's 7-6 loss to the A's, surrendering six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing just one run over his first 11 innings with the Astros, Sanchez got tossed around by the A's, largely thanks to the long ball. The right-hander held Oakland scoreless until the fourth inning, when he gave up a three-run home run to Matt Olson and a solo round-tripper to Corban Joseph. The sixth inning brought more trouble for Sanchez, who gave up back-to-back leadoff homers to Matt Chapman and Olson to give the A's a 6-4 lead. Sanchez now owns a 5.79 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 114:66 K:BB across 26 appearances this season. Despite the shaky start, the 27-year-old still holds plenty of upside, especially with a run supportive team like the Astros. Luckily, Sanchez has a more favorable matchup on tap against Detroit on Wednesday.

Sanchez (5-14) received the win Saturday at Baltimore after allowing one run on three hits over five innings. He had six strikeouts and three walks.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros tallied nine runs across the first three innings on their way to a 23-run performance, and Sanchez was able to get through five frames with 90 pitches to qualify for the victory. The 27-year-old has given up only three hits and one run across his first two starts (11 innings) with Houston and lines up to pitch Thursday at Oakland.

Sanchez will make his next start with the Astros on Saturday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
When Sanchez was acquired from the Blue Jays prior to the July 31 deadline, the prevailing belief was that he would work out of the bullpen as a multi-inning weapon. That thinking likely changed when Sanchez was needed for a spot start against the Mariners last weekend, when he promptly spearheaded the Astros' combined no-hitter with six scoreless frames. Sanchez will be rewarded with a second turn through the rotation as a result and is expected to have a decent amount of leash in a starting role after Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reported Wednesday that Houston intends to bring back rehabbing rotation member Brad Peacock (shoulder) as a reliever once he's activated from the injured list.

Sanchez (4-14) picked up the win Saturday, tossing six scoreless innings while striking out six and walking two to lead a combined no-hitter in a 9-0 victory over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Making his Houston debut, Sanchez ditched his mediocre four-seam fastball and leaned more heavily on his high-spin curveball, and the results were magic. The right-hander hadn't won a game since April 27 while staggering to a 6.07 ERA with the Blue Jays, so while the quality of Saturday's opposition has to be taken into account, it looks like Astros pitching coach Brent Strom might have another successful reclamation project to add to his scrapbook. Sanchez has certainly earned himself at least one more turn through the rotation with this performance.

Sanchez will start Saturday against the Mariners, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez will slot into Houston's rotation over the weekend after being acquired in a trade from the Blue Jays on Wednesday. The right-hander has struggled to a 6.07 ERA through 23 starts this season, but the Astros are hoping a change of scenery will help him rediscover some of the promise he showed earlier in his career (2.86 ERA through his first three seasons/317.1 innings).

Sanchez was traded from the Blue Jays to the Astros along with Joe Biagini in exchange for an undisclosed return, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros have no holes in their rotation, so Sanchez is expected to convert to a relief role. He certainly seems to be in need of some sort of change, as he's struggled to a 6.07 ERA through 23 starts, striking out just 18.9 percent of opposing batters while walking 11.3 percent. The Astros have a well-earned reputation as one of the smarter teams in baseball, though, so there's a chance they're able to help him recapture some of the promise he showed at the start of his career.

Sanchez allowed four runs on six hits while striking out 10 over 5.2 innings Sunday against the Rays. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez cruised through the first four innings before yielding a run in the fifth inning and three in the sixth. The 27-year-old right-hander still hasn't secured a victory since April 27, and he's been saddled with three losses in July. He'll aim to get back in the win column in his next start, which lines up for Friday in Baltimore.

Sanchez allowed one run on five hits with zero walks and six strikeouts across five innings during a no-decision against the Indians on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Although he didn't win, this performance broke a 10-game losing streak. Before Tuesday, the last time Sanchez received anything but a loss was May 22. However, Sanchez has still lost 13 straight decisions, as the last time he captured a victory was April 27. He is 3-14 with a 6.06 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 89 strikeouts in 107 innings this season. Sanchez will be in search of that elusive victory again Monday at the Royals.

Sanchez (3-14) took the loss Wednesday as the Blue Jays fell 5-4 to the Red Sox, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
This actually counted as one of the right-hander's better performances of the year, as it was the first time all season Sanchez didn't walk multiple batters. He's now lost 10 straight starts and 13 straight decisions, with his last win coming April 27. Sanchez will take a 6.26 ERA and 83:59 K:BB through 102 innings into his next outing Monday, at home against Cleveland.

Sanchez (3-13) gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two in five innings Friday against the Yankees. He took the loss.
EDGE Analysis
He only had three swinging strikes all night and averaged 94 mph with his fastball, which generated just one swinging strike on 39 pitches. At a certain point, it seems like the Blue Jays will need to explore options like moving Sanchez to the bullpen. His 6.22 ERA is the second-worst mark among qualified starting pitchers behind only Reynaldo Lopez (6.34 ERA).
