Sanchez won't start Monday against the Rockies as scheduled as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday. Sanchez is expected to start one of those games, but the Giants have yet to announce which he'll be starting.

Sanchez allowed two earned runs on one hit and five walks while striking out six across 4.2 innings Tuesday against the Rockies. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez threw only 44 of his 82 pitches for strikes, resulting in another early hook. Through five starts, Sanchez has completed exactly five innings three times and only 4.2 frames on the other two occasions. After his last outing, manager Gabe Kapler admitted Sanchez wasn't at "his physical best," which would result in continued short outings. On the other hand, Sanchez did increase his average fastball velocity to 90.0 mph in this effort. He's currently projected to make his next start Monday at Colorado.

Sanchez (1-1) picked up the win Thursday against the Marlins after tossing five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez has yet to pitch more than five innings in any of his first four starts, but he has allowed more than one run just once while posting a 14:4 K:BB through 19.2 innings -- he's limiting the damage despite the fact that he's not pitching deep into games. The veteran right-hander is slated to take the ball next week at home against the Rockies.

Manager Gabe Kapler said after Thursday's start that Sanchez is "not at his physical best right now" and that is why he has been pulled with low pitch counts, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez remained effective Thursday, delivering five scoreless innings with two strikeouts and surrendering only two hits. However, he maxed out at 89.8 mph with his fastball and averaged only 86.7 mph with the pitch. It's unclear whether he will need a stint on the injured list or have a start skipped, but Kapler's assessment of Sanchez's health is alarming.

Sanchez allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks while striking out five in Saturday's loss to the Marlins. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez hasn't gone deeper than five innings in his three starts, but he hasn't allowed more than two runs in any given outing. The 28-year-old carries a respectable 2.45 ERA and 12 strikeouts through 14.1 innings. The Giants haven't granted Sanchez with enough run support to earn him a win yet this season. His next outing is scheduled April 22 against Miami.

Sanchez allowed one run on six hits while striking out four across five innings Tuesday against the Padres. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez missed all of last season after undergoing should surgery late in the 2019 campaign so it was nice to see him have a solid outing after not taking the mound since August 2019. The 28-year-old breezed through the top of the order in the first before running into some adversity in the next pair of frames, but he ultimately settled down to retire the last seven batters he faced. Although Sanchez has struggled with location in the past, he did not issue any walks Tuesday and will look to keep things rolling against the Reds on Monday.

Sanchez appears set to begin the season as San Francisco's No. 5 starter, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez had a delayed start to appearing in spring training games, making his first start Mar. 20, as he worked his way back from September 2019 shoulder surgery. He's given up five runs in 5.2 innings in two spring outings, but has five strikeouts and two walks. He looks set to make his first start April 6 at San Diego.

Sanchez gave up three earned runs with two strikeouts and no walks over 2.1 innings in his first spring start Friday. His fastball sat in the low-90s and peaked at 93 mph, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez said he could add more velocity but didn't throw at max effort as he builds stamina for the regular season. It was Sanchez's first game since 2019 as he works his way back from September 2019 shoulder surgery. He did pitch a three-inning simulated game Sunday. It's not clear if he'll be ready for the start of the regular season, but he may be ready to join the rotation early April.

Sanchez was pleased with his results during his three-inning simulated game Sunday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez hasn't yet appeared in a spring training game this year as he continues to work his way back from September 2019 shoulder surgery, but he showed no limitations during his sim game Sunday. The right-hander didn't know his exact velocity during his throwing session, but he was pleased with how the ball felt coming out of his hand. Sanchez will now have just over two weeks to appear in Cactus League games ahead of Opening Day.

Sanchez will pitch a three-inning simulated game Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. He's yet to appear in a spring training game as he works his way back from September 2019 shoulder surgery.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander averaged just under 94 mph on his fastball during 2018 and 2019, but he was hitting 98 mph in bullpen sessions in early February. He's been penciled into the No. 4 spot in the rotation, but his lack of spring starts so far has his availability for the opening of the regular season in question.
