Sanchez does not expect to require a trip to the injured list after tearing his fingernail Monday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez was forced to exit after just three innings of work Monday against the Rays. He's already endured three finger-related injuries this season, but this latest one is reportedly the least severe. His next start lines up to come Sunday in Coors Field.

Sanchez left his start Monday against the Rays with a torn right middle fingernail.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez's career has been slowed by finger issues for the last three seasons, as he's dealt with both blister and fingernail problems. This is the second time fingernail issues have come up for him this season, and he's also dealt with yet another blister in mid-May. It's unclear if the injury will be serious enough for him to miss his next start.

Sanchez left his start Monday against the Rays after just three innings for undisclosed reasons, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez has battled repeated blister issues, which may be the most likely explanation. The Blue Jays have also been dealing with an illness making the rounds lately, which could be another possible reason. His performance wasn't great, as he'd allowed six hits and two walks in three innings, but he'd given up just a single run.

Sanchez didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Red Sox, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
The blister issue that cut short his previous trip to the mound wasn't in evidence in this one, as Sanchez threw 61 of 91 pitches for strikes in his third quality start of the season. He'll take a 3.79 ERA and 55:31 K:BB through 57 innings into his next outing Monday in Tampa Bay.

The Blue Jays are listing Sanchez (finger) as their probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
During his most recent outing last weekend against the White Sox, Sanchez covered three innings before a blister on his throwing hand ended his night early. Considering that blisters played a large part in limiting Sanchez to just 28 starts the previous two seasons, there was some thought the Blue Jays might push him back in the pitching schedule, but that apparently won't be necessary. Assuming he escapes warmups Wednesday without the blister reopening, Sanchez shouldn't face any restrictions while pitching on his usual four days' rest.

Sanchez exited Friday's start against the White Sox due to a blister on his right middle finger, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings prior to leaving.
EDGE Analysis
Here we go again -- the delicate skin on his fingers continues to be the bane of Sanchez's career. The right-hander tossed just 54 pitches before having to leave the ballgame, giving up both of his runs in the third inning on three hits. He'll be considered day-to-day until more information on his status is revealed, but given his lengthy history of blister issues, expect the Jays to exercise plenty of caution with him.

Sanchez (3-4) allowed five runs on nine hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks across six innings while taking a loss to the White Sox on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The 11 strikeouts is obviously spectacular, but Sanchez gave up plenty of good contact too, including a pair of home runs, which accounted for the five runs he yielded. Sanchez has allowed six home runs in his last six starts, and while the 11 strikeouts is great, Sanchez hasn't averaged a strikeout per inning during his last six outings. Overall, he is 3-4 with a 3.75 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 48 innings this season. He'll get another crack at the White Sox in his next start Saturday.

Sanchez (3-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Twins by giving up three runs on six hits across seven innings. He struck out six and walked three.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez delivered his longest outing of the season Tuesday but received nothing in terms of run support. The 26-year-old has a 3.21 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 35:25 K:BB through 42 innings and figures to pitch Sunday versus the White Sox.

Sanchez (3-2) was hit with the loss against the Angels on Thursday, giving up five runs (four earned) on nine hits over four innings, striking out two and walking two as the Blue Jays fell 6-2.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander wasn't fooling anybody in this contest, as he allowed 11 baserunners in just four innings of work before exiting after 89 pitches. Sanchez has issued 22 walks in 35 innings this season, contributing to a bloated 1.49 WHIP, so he'll need to cut down on the free passes in order to maintain his respectable 3.09 ERA.

Sanchez (3-1) allowed one unearned run on two hits with four strikeouts and four walks across five innings in a victory against the Athletics on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old has struggled with control all season, but behind a .196 batting average against, Sanchez has yielded two or fewer runs in five of his six starts this year. That was the story once again Saturday, as he improved to 3-1 with a 2.32 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. However, Sanchez also has 20 walks with 27 strikeouts in 31 frames. One has to thing the right-hander won't be able to continue to post a 5.8 BB/9 and maintain an ERA well below 3.00. Sanchez is scheduled to make his next start Friday on the road against the Rangers.
