Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports that the Blue Jays plan to call up prospect right-hander Aaron Sanchez on Tuesday. Sanchez was just shifted to the bullpen last week in Triple-A, which is where he'll pitch in his first taste of the majors. The 22-year-old has posted a 3.95 ERA and 84/57 K/BB ratio over 100 1/3 innings this season between Double- and Triple-A. He still has a promising future as a starter, but the Jays are hoping he can make an impact down the stretch in a relief role.

Blue Jays pitching prospect Aaron Sanchez has been moved to the bullpen at Triple-A Buffalo. The 22-year-old right-hander will likely be called up to Toronto once he gets comfortable in his new, temporary role. Sanchez is a highly-thought-of prospect and projects as a starting pitcher long term.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Blue Jays are considering promoting pitching prospect Aaron Sanchez and using him as a reliever. The move would help keep Sanchez's innings down while also giving the Jays a potentially dynamic option in the bullpen. Rosenthal says that the Jays are also considering promoting fellow prospect Daniel Norris to Triple-A and possibly eventually the majors as a reliever. Sanchez holds a 3.94 ERA with 82 strikeouts over 98 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A this season.

Blue Jays right-handed pitching prospect Aaron Sanchez had his best outing for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, striking out seven batters over 4 1/3 innings, scattering three singles and four walks while allowing only one run. Sanchez's command woes, combined with his elite pitches, continued to produce high strikeout and high walk totals. He now has 12 walks and 13 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings in Triple-A, while opposing batters have a .265/.403/.347 line.

Blue Jays right-handed pitching prospect Aaron Sanchez was hit hard in his Triple-A debut on Saturday, allowing six hits and four walks while allowing five runs, four of which were earned. Sanchez struck out two batters, throwing 47 of his 86 pitches for strikes (54.7%). Sanchez has electric stuff, but has a short pitching stride which often results in inconsistent mechanics and release point. As a result, he struggles to command his pitches, often missing the strike zone.

Blue Jays prospect Aaron Sanchez has been promoted from Double-A New Hampshire to Triple-A Buffalo. Sanchez had a 3.82 ERA and 57/40 K/BB ratio in 66 innings this season at the Double-A level. He obviously still has some control issues, but the 21-year-old right-hander carries front-line starter upside. Sanchez was the 34th overall pick in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft.

Blue Jays prospect RHP Aaron Sanchez arguably had his best start of the season since Opening Day on Sunday, as he allowed one earned run and struck out seven batters in 6 2/3 innings for Double-A New Hampshire. The 21-year-old's control and command was vastly improved in the outing, as he scattered four hits and allowed a season-best one walk. After struggling through May with a 6.66 ERA and 22 walks in 24 1/3 innings, Sanchez has now looked like his old self in back-to-back starts this month, as he's posted a 2.31 ERA and 14-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio in his last 11 2/3 frames. If the right-hander can continue to build off his recent success (his walk rate currently sits at 5.5 BB/9), then it's not crazy to think he'll be able to help the Blue Jays at some point later this season.
