Sanchez (3-5) allowed one run on two hits and three walks while striking out seven across six innings as he notched the win Sunday against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez made an impressive start, allowing just one run on a solo home run to Leonys Martin in the sixth inning. He also worked past the fifth, something he's failed to accomplish since April 30 against the Twins. Through 12 outings this season, Sanchez has accrued a 4.48 ERA and 1.49 WHIP with 53 strikeouts across 66.1 innings.

Sanchez (2-5) was hit with the loss Monday against the Red Sox, allowing seven runs on nine hits and one walk across five innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez dealt with traffic all evening in this one, allowing at least one baserunner in all five innings he pitched. He ultimately came undone in the fourth inning, giving up five runs on five hits, capped by an Andrew Benintendi three-run homer. Sanchez has struggled to a 5.96 ERA across five May outings (22.2 innings) after posting a 3.66 ERA across five starts in April (32 innings), leaving his ERA at an unremarkable 4.77 on the year. He'll look to right the ship in his next start as he heads to Detroit to face the Tigers, a much more manageable task than taking on the Red Sox in Boston.

Sanchez didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 extra-innings win over the Red Sox, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks over five innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander threw 60 of 96 pitches for strikes in failing to last at least six innings for the second straight start, but some late-game heroics by catcher Luke Maile -- whose fourth-inning throwing error brought home Boston's third run -- took Sanchez off the hook for the loss. He'll carry a 4.08 ERA into his next outing Thursday at home against the A's.

Sanchez allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings in Wednesday's loss against the Red Sox. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez was missing bats all night, inducing 17 swings and misses, and left in line for the win but the bullpen couldn't make the lead hold up. The young righty has now tossed four straight quality starts, but this may have been the best of the bunch. He hadn't been flashing much strikeout potential yet in his first four starts, and the eight K's were his most yet this season. He'll try to return to the win column Monday against the Twins.

Sanchez (1-2) allowed three earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out two across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez squared off against the Yankees for the second time this season, and the results weren't particularly impressive. He allowed only one extra base hit but allowed a lot of contact, allowing them to manufacture their runs. Through four starts this season he has been able to force opponents into a lot of weak contact on the ground but he has shown little strikeout upside in the process.

Sanchez (1-1) allowed a single run on three hits and five walks while striking out four batters through eight innings to record the win Tuesday against Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old righty appears to be settling in, as this was his best start of the campaign. After a disappointing showing last season, it's easy to forget that Sanchez won 15 games and the AL ERA title in 2016. While it might be difficult for him to duplicate that level of success this year, he owns the potential to be a valuable contributor in all settings. A home start against the Royals is up next for Sanchez.

Sanchez allowed three runs on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings but took a no-decision Wednesday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez was substantially better than his first time out, when he walked four batters and allowed four runs, but signs of rust were still there. Sanchez hit a batter to bring in a run in the fifth inning and was ripped for a pair of extra-base hits, including a Matt Davidson home run. Still, he was nasty, as he induced 16 swinging strikes in 98 pitches, a good sign that he can get it together as April continues.

Sanchez (0-1) allowed four runs on eight hits and four walks over 5.2 innings while striking out two in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was able to keep the Jays in the game until the sixth inning, when two walks and a single loaded the bases for Tyler Wade, who sent Sanchez to the showers with a two-run double. The 25-year-old showed no signs of the blisters that ruined his 2017 campaign, though, and better results should be ahead for Sanchez if he can stay off the disabled list. He'll next take the mound Wednesday at home against the White Sox.

Sanchez will take the hill against the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Sanchez will slide into the rotation behind J.A. Happ, who takes the mound for Opening Day on Thursday. After a tumultuous 2017 season that was plagued by blister issues, Sanchez worked through a healthy spring training and will look to repeat his All-Star form from the previous year when he logged a 3.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 192 innings.

Sanchez has given up five earned runs on 13 hits and two walks while striking out 12 batters over 11.1 innings in Grapefruit League play.
EDGE Analysis
More important than Sanchez's results this spring is the fact that the right-hander has escaped his four outings without a recurrence of the blisters on his right middle finger that derailed his 2017 campaign. According to Jon Paul Morosi of MLB Network, Sanchez said that he has been able to put more focus this spring on developing his changeup, a pitch he has largely neglected since joining the Blue Jays because the organization had ushered him into the big leagues as a reliever. With Sanchez believing the blister issues are behind him and excited about incorporating more off-speed stuff into his repertoire during the upcoming season, he's optimistic that he'll be able to return to the form he displayed in 2016, when his 3.00 ERA led all qualified American League starters.
