Judge is batting .300 (15-for-50) with two home runs and four RBI in his first 20 spring training games.
EDGE Analysis
The power-hitting 24-year-old has enjoyed a solid spring training campaign in the days leading up to his first Opening Day start. Though it's a small sample size, Judge's 21 percent strikeout rate during camp is an encouraging sign, as he struck out in over 44 percent of his at-bats during his 27 games played for the Yankees in 2016.

Judge is 3-for-9 with a home run through four spring training games.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was an absolute blast, as the 6-foot-7, 230-pounder continued to show off his tantalizing power stroke. Entering his first full season in the big leagues, Judge is poised to take on the everyday duties in right field, though he may end up losing some at-bats in that capacity to Aaron Hicks. The 24-year-old was terrific in the minors last season but hit just .179 in 27 games in the majors while alarmingly striking out in exactly half of his at-bats, so he'll need to display a more restrained approach at the plate as he adjusts to big league pitching.

Judge was placed on the 15-day DL on Wednesday with a Grade 2 right oblique strain, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior reports suggested Judge would likely miss the rest of the season, and the Grade 2 classification pretty much does away with any remaining hope for a return in 2016. Judge packs impressive power but there is a lot of swing-and-miss in his game right now. He won't just be handed the started job in right field in spring training.

Judge (oblique) is expected to miss the remainder of the season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A strained oblique will prematurely end Judge's rookie season, which he'll conclude with four home runs and a .179 average in 27 games. Rob Refsnyder, Mason Williams, and Aaron Hicks -- once he returns from a hamstring injury -- figure to see the bulk of the playing time in right field in his absence. Going into 2017, Judge will likely have the inside track to a starting role on Opening Day, but he'll need to cut down on his strikeout rate -- he struck out in exactly 50% of his at bats this season -- to take the next step forward.

Judge (strained oblique) is out indefinitely, ESPN's Wallace Matthews reports. "We won't see him for awhile," manager Joe Girardi said after Tuesday's game.
EDGE Analysis
This comes as no surprise, as a strained oblique can often lead to a DL stint. The Yankees won't DL Judge since rosters have expanded, but it's possible he won't return during the regular season. In the meantime, Rob Refsnyder is expected to get the bulk of the at-bats in right field.

Judge was diagnosed with an strained right oblique, Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
While it was initially thought that Judge was dealing with an ankle issue, it appears that it's actually an oblique injury. Judge will undergo an MRI on Wednesday, at which point the severity of the strain will become known.

Judge left Tuesday's game in the fifth inning with an apparent ankle injury, Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media reports.
EDGE Analysis
Judge twisted his ankle while swinging and was pulled from the game shortly after, although he told the team the team trainer that he felt fine. Upon his departure, Jacoby Ellsbury joined the New York outfield. It's likely that the Yankees are being cautious with the 24-year-old, but more information regarding his status should be available soon.

Judge went 1-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
This game served as a microcosm of Judge's young career, as he launched a mammoth 443 foot home run but also struck out twice to lower his average to .181. The 24-year-old has already struck out a whopping 41 times in just 83 at bats and he's struggled to do much at the plate when he's not displaying his impressive power. With Aaron Hicks nearing a return from a hamstring injury, Judge could start to see more time on the bench down the stretch if his struggles continue.

Judge is out of the lineup Saturday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Big league pitchers have had their way with Judge, as he's striking out at a 44.7 percent clip through 85 plate appearances. The power is very real, but he has been neutralized for the most part thus far, and it wouldn't be surprising if he continues to lose out on at-bats down the stretch. Rob Refsnyder is starting in right field and hitting seventh Saturday.

Judge is not in the lineup Wednesday against Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
The usual starter in right field of late will get the day off Wednesday, as the Yankees go with Tyler Austin in his place. Judge has hit three home runs since coming up in mid-August but he's struggled mightily of late and has struck out at least twice in each of his last nine games.
