Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Judge, who has been experiencing pain in his left shoulder in recent days, would "absolutely" play in one game of the team's doubleheader with the Indians on Wednesday, John Chandler of NBC 4 New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Before Tuesday's game was postponed due to rain, Judge was set to remain on the bench for a second straight contest, as the Yankees' didn't list him in their starting nine, according to Erik Boland of Newsday. The rainout will offer Judge an additional day to recover from the shoulder issue, but it doesn't sound as though Girardi is keen on having the All-Star play both contests of the twin bill. Assuming Judge makes it through one of the games Wednesday without incident, he should take back a full-time role in the outfield or at designated hitter heading into the club's four-game series with the Red Sox beginning Thursday.
