Aaron Hill was not cleared to resume activities Monday after a doctor determined that his left hand had not healed sufficiently. "He's going to be waiting and try to get some more growth on that bone," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. Hill to this point has been limited to running and standing in on bullpen sessions to track pitches. It's unlikely that he'll be ready to return before June now.

Aaron Hill (hand) is hoping to be cleared to hit off a tee sometime next week. Hill has had to keep his soft cast on longer than expected, but he'll visit the doctor again Sunday and undergo another CT scan Monday in hopes that he can start hitting. The second baseman to this point has been limited to running and standing in on bullpen sessions to track pitches. He won't be back until late May at the earliest, and there's a good chance his absence will extend into June.

Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers said Friday that Aaron Hill's injured hand is taking longer than expected to heal. Towers indicated that the current best case scenario has Hill returning in late May, but that could easily extend into June. Hill has developed into one of the better offensive second basemen in the league, and was off to a solid .306/.405/.556 start with two homers and six RBI in his first 10 games.

Doctors have decided to keep the splint on Aaron Hill's fractured left hand after he was examined on Tuesday. He will be re-examined next week to see how much the bone has regenerated. If it has shown sufficient healing, Hill will be allowed to start the rehab process. The second baseman isn't expected to return until at least late May.

Aaron Hill (hand) is expected to be out 4-6 weeks. Hill was placed on the disabled list Tuesday after an MRI taken Monday evening revealed a small fracture in his left hand. The Diamondbacks activated Didi Gregorius in a corresponding move and will likely start him at shortstop with Cliff Pennington shifting to second. Hill's injury is a massive blow to the Snakes.

Diamondbacks placed 2B Aaron Hill on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 15, with a broken left hand. It's unclear how long Hill will be sidelined, but it's a huge loss for the Diamondbacks. Martin Prado is starting at second base Tuesday night against the Yankees and could see more playing time there in the days head. The Diamondbacks activated Didi Gregorius (elbow) from the disabled list in a corresponding roster move, which opens the door for the possibility of Cliff Pennington playing some second base.

Aaron Hill (wrist) is out of Monday's lineup against the Yankees. Hill left Sunday's game with wrist soreness and underwent an MRI on Monday, but the results aren't yet known. Martin Prado will make the start at second base Tuesday while Eric Chavez will play third.

Aaron Hill underwent an MRI on his left wrist Monday. The Diamondbacks are still reviewing the results of the MRI, but they're preparing for the possibility that their second baseman might need a trip to the disabled list. Didi Gregorius would be an option to take Hill's spot on the roster.

X-rays to Aaron Hill's left wrist came back negative. Hill was removed from Sunday's game in the fourth inning with left wrist soreness. The Diamondbacks are still calling him day-to-day, but he'll undergo an MRI early next week to rule out anything serious. He missed the last four games with a bruised left hand, so it's likely a setback of his previous injury.

Aaron Hill (hand) was removed in the fourth inning of Sunday's game against the Dodgers. Hill was making his first start since Tuesday due to a bruised left hand, so he's likely dealing with a setback. Martin Prado has replaced at second base.
