I will continue to operate the site. There will be some minor changes as we integrate with AOL Sports but otherwise everything will remain the same.
Fleaflicker has come a long way in just three and a half years. During that time I was possessed by a single (and often unhealthy) obsession—making the best fantasy football site. My decision to sell was made with this goal in mind.
AOL and I share the same vision for expanding the site. Integrating with AOL sports will improve Fleaflicker immeasurably. (For example, FanHouse blogs provide the most insightful sports commentary on the Internet; their content will ultimately be integrated into Fleaflicker.)
The bottom line is this: I made this decision because I am certain it will improve the game for all Fleaflicker users.
I just wish I could get to the rosters, and I would set the leagues up myself. All of the individual scoring systems probably takes some time to transfer. I have a dynasty waiting to finish the draft and another keeper that was to have our annual June 1st cuts, but that has come and gone.
Doing my best but there were delays in obtaining all your AOL league data. I now have it and I'm working to have it here ASAP. I don't want to commit to a date but just know it is my #1 priority.
Thanks for the update. This is just out of curiousity, but how do the AOL leagues transfer over to FF? Is there a program that ports the data, or do you actually have to create totally new fleaflicker leagues by entering everything?
Our league had our own unique scoring. Will that transfer over as well? Thank you.
I'm not asking to be a jerk - I'm truly happy for you - I knew this day would come, FF is hot and you put together a great site, someone big was going to come along and buy you.
So as a Fan, rooting for you, I'd like to be able to go back to the guys I'm looking to start a new league with and say "Hey, Fleafounder ROCKS! AOL paid him $________ for his site! We're sticking with Flea!"
Dynasty leagues operate all year. Things like drafts, waiver moves, trades, etc. still take place.
I agree, though, give him at least a few more days before you jump all over him. The fact that AOL bought the site shows that Fleafounder put a lot of work into it, so you know he isn't a slacker.
I'd actually prefer it if AOL got involved later rather than sooner. I have not been too impressed with what they have to offer, while I absolutely love this site.
Is there any update on the timeframe for this being completed? Last I heard was June 2. I'm really looking forward to seeing our AOL league imported. Thanks.
so...is there a new date we can look forward to?
it's june 9th now...
and I'm not trying to be a jerk...
but are we talking about a few days?
a few weeks?
I realize football is a ways off....but fantasy football never ends and we can't access our rosters.

For now, involving AOL just means importing all their past leagues/users into Fleaflicker so they can player here this season.
