I will continue to operate the site. There will be some minor changes as we integrate with AOL Sports but otherwise everything will remain the same.
Fleaflicker has come a long way in just three and a half years. During that time I was possessed by a single (and often unhealthy) obsession—making the best fantasy football site. My decision to sell was made with this goal in mind.
AOL and I share the same vision for expanding the site. Integrating with AOL sports will improve Fleaflicker immeasurably. (For example, FanHouse blogs provide the most insightful sports commentary on the Internet; their content will ultimately be integrated into Fleaflicker.)
The bottom line is this: I made this decision because I am certain it will improve the game for all Fleaflicker users.
Just so you know, I've been using AOL's League Manager for three years and it was always free.
It offered just as much, if not more, than other pay sites and not one thing about it cost a cent. The were no upgrades, nothing. It was fantastic!
I tried to log on to the site today and found it down. Does this mean that they're taking down League Manager and replacing it with Fleaflicker?
There are some things that it had that Fleaflicker doesn't have yet and there are some things that Fleaflicker has that AOL didn't have. Hopefully you'll be able to amalgamate the best of both!
And, of course, keep it free as both have been on their own.
Remember, for some of us, FREE is the first thing we look for in a site.
Hope to see great things in the future! Good luck.
Well congrats to you, you deserve yours. This is a great site and we all love it.
I hope Fleaflicker stays free, for the site itself. If they insert cost all the keeper leagues that have been running for a year or more will fall apart and you will lose TONS of users. I expect major changes if you were bought out by AOL, I hope they don't push you aside Ori. Goodluck to you and every user on Fleaflicker.
AOL's fantasy football game has always been free. AOL has a lot of free sites and services that you probably didn't even know were owned by AOL (e.g., MapQuest).
I'm still in charge and I will not approve any changes that dilute the quality of the game in any way.
You put in your work, I am sure more work than I would ever understand to make this site. It is simply amazing and was only a matter of time before someone paid you for it. I am excited for the season to start!!! Thanks again and enjoy that check!
