Erixon agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Vaxjo Lakers HC (Sweden) on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Erixon logged 28 games for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season, in which he notched five assists, 18 PIM and a plus-6 rating. In his career, the blueliner has appeared in 93 NHL games for the Rangers, Blue Jackets, Blackhawks and Maple Leafs, but was never able to earn a permanent spot on a 23-man roster. A move back to his native Sweden likely marks the end of Erixon's time in North America, while he figures to finish with two goals, 12 assists and 38 PIM in the NHL.

Erixon was released from his professional tryout with the Devils on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for Erixon, his legacy may be as a player that was tacked on with the blockbuster trade that saw Phil Kessel shipped from Toronto to Pittsburgh. Since leaving Toronto, the blueliner has not appeared in an NHL contests -- something that is looking less likely now that he was unable to land a contract with New Jersey. The former first-round pick might need to return to the Swedish League where he began his professional career back in 2007-08.

Erixon will be in training camp with New Jersey after signing a professional tryout agreement Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Once a heralded prospect and a first-round pick of the Flames in 2009, Erixon has joined his sixth organization in what will be his seventh professional season in North America. Erixon won't have the steepest of competition as he tries to win a roster spot, but will have minimal impact from a fantasy standpoint if he is to find his way on to any NHL team.

Erixon wasn't extended a qualifying offer by the Penguins and will become an unrestricted free agent, Jonathan Bombulie of the Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
Erixon hasn't played in a game at the NHL level since 2014 and the Penguins didn't feel like he was in their plans for the future, so they'll let him test the open free agent market. Erixon will likely have to settle for a two-way contract elsewhere and could again see a ton of time at the AHL level during the 2017 campaign.

Erixon signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Penguins on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Erixon failed to crack the lineup in 2015-16 and spent the entire season with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. While in the minors, the blueliner scored three goals along with 17 assists and 44 PIM. Fantasy owners will largely ignore this deal as the 25-year-old is unlikely to burst on the scene for the 2016-17 campaign and will continue being developed outside of the NHL.

Erixon was sent to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Erixon was recalled from the AHL last Friday, but never ended up dressing for the Penguins. He will now return to the minors and continue serving as organizational depth along the blue line.

The Penguins have recalled Erixon from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Jenn Menendez of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Erixon is a well-rounded blueliner in the Pens' system, he doesn't play enough with the parent club to warrant serious consideration in most fantasy pools.

The Penguins assigned Erixon to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Erixon was sent to the AHL in order to make room for Bryan Rust on the Penguins 23-man roster. Rust will provide the team with additional depth up front while Beau Bennett works his way back from injury, so Erixon may be recalled by Pittsburgh once Bennett is ready to return to the Penguin's lineup.

Erixon missed Tuesday's practice due to an undisclosed injury, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Erixon suffered the ailment during Monday's exhibition win over the Blue Jackets and is viewed as day-to-day. The 24-year-old, who was one of the players Pittsburgh received in this summer's Phil Kessel megadeal, is competing for a spot on the Pens' third defensive pairing in training camp.

Erixon was traded Wednesday to the Penguins along with forwards Phil Kessel and Tyler Biggs and a 2016 second-round draft pick in exchange for forwards Nick Spaling and Kasperi Kapanen, defenseman Scott Harrington, and first- and third-round draft picks in 2016, Sportsnet.ca reports. Erixon was expected to enjoy a regular role with Toronto in 2015-16, but his path to ice time is a bit more muddled upon landing in Pittsburgh. The 24-year-old showed some semblance of offensive upside in the minors while he was a member of the Blue Jackets organization, but it has yet to materialize quite yet at the NHL level. In 93 career games, he's managed only two goals and 12 assists.
