Erixon re-signed with the Maple Leafs on Tuesday to a one-year contract, Frank Seravalli of TSN reports. Erixon spent time in the NHL with the Blue Jackets, Blackhawks, and Leafs last season, generating only two goals and five assists in 42 games. Though he's already bounced around five organizations in his career, the 24-year-old Erixon still possesses some semblance of upside. With the Buds expected to lean heavily on young defensemen next season, Erixon should have a chance at playing his way into a longer-term contract.

Erixon has overcome his illness but is expected to be a healthy scratch for Monday's game against the Oilers, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports. The 24-year-old was previously off the ice with an illness but it now appears that he simply doesn't have a spot in coach Peter Horachek's lineup. As a result, Erixon is a lackluster option across all formats until he sees some time on the ice.

Erixon (illness) will not ultimately play in Saturday's game against the Canucks, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports. Erixon originally felt well enough to play in Saturday's game but was scratched right before the puck dropped because he was too ill to take the ice. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's game against the Oilers.

Coach Peter Horachek said Erixon (illness) will be available for Saturday's game against the Blues, NHL.com reports. Erixon missed Thursday's game against the Lightning with the illness, but appears to be back to full health. Even though he's ostensibly good to go, Erixon isn't guaranteed a regular spot in the Maple Leafs' lineup and could still be at risk of being a healthy scratch.

Erixon (illness) will not play in Thursday's game against Tampa Bay. Erixon was considered questionable due to a viral illness, after being claimed off waivers from the Blackhawks on Sunday. He saw 15:52 of ice time in his Leafs' debut Tuesday against the Panthers, and he can be considered questionable for Saturday's game against St. Louis.

Erixon (illness) is questionable to play Thursday against the Lightning, TSN's Jonas Siegel reports. Erixon, who was claimed on waivers from Chicago on Sunday, suited up for his first game in a Toronto uniform on Tuesday, seeing 15:52 worth of ice time in the process.

Erixon was claimed by the Maple Leafs on Sunday, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports. Chicago put Erixon on waivers Saturday as he was rather unproductive for them this season and often scratched despite his full bill of health. A change of scenery won't likely boost Erixon's value, however, and he should continue to see limited ice time with his third team of the 2014-15 season.

The Blackhawks placed Erixon on waivers on Saturday, ESPN Chicago reports. Erixon had mainly been out of the way Blackhawks' lineup after being acquired in December from the Blue Jackets for Jeremy Morin. Erixon has zero points, is a plus-1 and has averaged 9:59 of ice time in eight games for the Blackhawks this season. He played in the Blackhawks' last two games after being a healthy scratch for 16 consecutive games. The move of Erixon comes after Chicago defenseman Kimmo Timonen from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday. If he clears waivers, Erixon will be sent down to AHL's Rockford.

Erixon will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Panthers, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports. Erixon dealt with a lower-body injury a little over a week ago, but he appears sufficiently recovered at this point. He's had a tough time cracking the lineup since arriving in Chicago in a Dec. 14 trade, appearing in only six games with his new club.

Erixon (lower body) was scratched for Sunday's game against the Penguins, Jason Mackey of the Chicago Tribune reports.Erixon skated at practice Saturday, so it's possible he is just a healthy scratch for Sunday's game. His next chance to return to the lineup will come Wednesday against the Red Wings.
